all diesel vehciles can use – no conversion required – advice and info available

plse support these guys – spread the word – sell yr petrol, get a diesel, join the veg oil revolution!

    i tank u

sounds wicked you sure it dont need conversion to ur engine?

good shit. untill technology like this is actually put into action nothing will change untill its too late and we are all fucked.

its good you can run any diesel car on it without having to fork out for a conversion/whatever. where as even if they made hydrogen cars available it’ll still be 10-15 years until the average person can afford a second hand one.

im definitley gettin a diesel next, especially if they put bio pumps in every station.

Theres two ways of doing it usually. You can either treat used cooking oil with turps or something similar and it will burn just fine even from cold…or you can do the conversion where the negine warms up burning diesel then you switch over.

These garages seem like the best way to do it as C&E have been fucking people big style for biodiesel as people weren’t paying tax on it. Now if your stopped you have to pay tax on it depending on how far they decide you have gone unless you can prove otherwise.

We have a Bio-Diesel Garage in Molland right on the edge of exmoor, apparantly the couple who run it are persecuted by the Local hunting plum up thier ass brigade as hippies. So much for changing peoples attitudes EH!:you_crazy

I don’t understand… whatever their political views may be, biodiesel is normally cheaper than normal stuff? (it usually is in the South and East).

Its not even an environmental panacea either; making it involves very nasty chemicals and some small British firms have been had up for sloppy practices and causing contamination.

But you mean to say that the bumpkins in that area would rather pay more for petroleum-based diesel and essentially fuel a third world war?

They have completely lost it then… :you_crazy

they also sell organic veg,a mate who lives there and has aspirations to local council said that at the local nimby meeting the ass plumbs lumped the bio garage/shop and the proposed windfarm together to deal with it as one PROBLEM.I would laugh if it didnt piss me off so much:hopeless::hopeless::hopeless::hopeless:

These people need to get a reality check :you_crazy:you_crazy:you_crazy

So much for a class free system hey?

biodiesel is only really deeply ‘green’ if the oil was gonna be thrown away. if you have to plant stuff to make it, its a bit more marginal.:hopeless:

It is another small step in the right direction tho, but sadly, not a ‘silver bullet’.

exactly. The only real answer is demand reduction for fuel and that means less consumption.

There is a real danger now that the SE Asian rainforest will be wholly destroyed to plant palm trees (to generate palm oil for “biodiesel”).

It is an absolute nightmare to keep up with ‘wots hot an wots not’, in terms of climate change. Biodiesel has been slipping down the charts in recent months, unfortunately.

Particularly fashionable this month (with me, anyway!) is a new type of solar panel made in a thin, flexible sheet. In theory, it should be possible to make them for a lot less than current solar panels.

Of course, all this means, is that i havent found out what the catch is yet!:hopeless: Probably made out of baby seals, or somethin:groucho:

Check out the crazy weather worldwide, the Northern Hemisphere is totally all over the shop! The US is blaming El Nino, but thats just BS, its far too warm for ‘just’ El Nino.

I think we are up shit creek, personally… watch the skies!raaa raaa

Could you run a genarator of this biodeisel?
If you can mabye rig crews should start doing there bit to help the enviroment:groucho: :groucho: . and probally safe themselves a little bit a sweet dollar.

yes, you should be able to do so… the genset engine has less variations of speed and power demand than a motor vehicle… in fact you could run the genset on straight veg oil etc and you wouldn’t be breaking any tax laws as its not a motor vehicle…

NB: if anyone is going to try this I suggest they experiment first (preferable with backup kit) and have someone on hand who mechanically minded to deal with any potential problems; don’t try and do it just before the rave!

TBH rigs don’t actually use that much energy, even the big ones, as they are only switched on for about 12 or so hours. A massive rave uses at most £30 of electric for a multirigger….

the bulk of energy/resource use on the party scene is from travelling to get there and that has increased as a result of the zero tolerance (people are driving 200 miles each way to get to raves now)..

Crews would be better off using as many diesel motor vehicles as possible and joining the biodiesel club.

It also stops hassle from HMRC as part of the club membership is telling HMRC you may be running your vehicle(s) on biodiesel, and most of these places help with conversions (blends with more veg oil can clog filters and other engine components.)

Sadly HMRC never used to care about this but too many gary boys started using veg oil (sometimes mixed with paraffin) and other questionable mixtures merely to evade tax and save money rather than the environmental benefits..

Also some firms were making biodiesel in dodgy and unsafe ways and in doing so they were actually causing more pollution; once again “self-regulation” failed and the nanny state struck back..

It would be great to run a rig on chip fat, can u imagine what the all-pervading smell of chips would do to a messy party. ha ha ha!:groucho:

You can but the cheapest way is to get hold of red deisel from a farmer or road worker.
Not as enviro friendly but cheap as chips.
