I do fecking hate the rain now! 😥
Early Sunday morning me and a mate were popping to pick someone up and head off to get some breakfast, we took the back roads through all the villages and were avoiding big puddles and the odd shallow flood.
Got a a long stretch of road that was under water and assessed the situation, from memory (my mind was still pickled) the road was pretty level so it shouldn’t have been that deep.
Well we set off into the flood in the Astra and was making good progress, I pointed out that my mate should slow down because the water was coming quite high over the bonnet. Then the engine died and we started to move at a funny angle and drifted across the road into the bushes, water was pissing through the bottoms of the doors.
My mate opened his door (with a lot of effort) and the water started to flow in pretty dam quick, I was then made me get out into the cold water to push the car.. I jumped in water as high as my crotch and my mobile fell in, well we pushed the car out and as my phone was wet and fucked and his had a flat battery we were fucked for a fair bit of time.
Thank fuck we managed to start the car after about 20 mins and head home, with the foot wells flooded and me opening the car door around every right hand bend to try and get some water out. :laugh_at:
Took about 2 hours to get the inside all clean and sort of dry :crazy_diz
