  • UK Indymedia – Entire BNP membership list goes online

I have a link to the list, however I think it would be inappropriate to post it due to incrimination and privacy issues, unless the mods say otherwise?

I have seen this list and it’s leak will do some good – there are prison officers on there (despite this being against the policy of the Prison Service) and even youth workers (despite this being completely contradictory to the Youth Work Values in the Transforming Youth Work Act).

The prison officer is based at a prison near me which has significant percentage of immigrants or people of immigrant descent as both inmates and staff.

Ah excellent, that is good news. Especially terrible that youth workers are on there though.

Its a very clever political move if it was stolen by someone who was aiming to damage the BNP… Nice one raaa

Hope some good can come of this. More violence and intimidation won’t really help matters

Whats the point in posting the list? So what if people are members of the BNP, I thought they were a legitimate political party?

(I don’t support them btw before anyone calls me a racist lol) 😉

Agreed raaa Wont bounce back from that in a hurry, not to mention the odd emails the members are bound to get LOL

Also the “not renewing” (membership)”not worth it” lol comments have me rotfl Could living with other earthlings really be so bad that you wont renew your membership LOL

They are, however certain organisations such as the Police, the Prison Service and the Youth Service have government policies which demand an employee declare whether he or she is part of certain organisations, the BNP being one of them.

If they are involved with the BNP they are not permitted to hold a position in the organisation.

There are a lot of police officers in that list, and prison officers, and the odd youth worker. This means they shouldn’t be in the position of authority they are in and will lose their job. Which is a good thing, I’d rather not have fascists in the police force or prison service, and definitely not the youth service!

the BNP have been trying to make inroads into the SW for a few years

a few years ago we managed to expose a whole load of unsavoury stuff about each election candidate including electoral fraud long before the time came to vote. IIRC of 13 candidates across devon and cornwall, only 1 made it as far as the polling booth (some lost their jobs due to committing fraud).

I prefer damaging their credibility through exposing the real truth, which is that their leaders are nasty, lying, cheating criminals than targeting the people who just vote for them

but it’s quite a funny blunder. i just hope it doesn’t lead to violence that will only entrench people… expose the party for what it is, ridicule their policies with logic and evidence, but don’t kick off at individuals just because

unless you really feel it’s needed 😉

unfortunately a lot of sources hint that this was no blunder at all, a deliberate leak from within the organisation, presumably by those wanting a more secretive, paranoid and hardline extreme right wing organisation.

Such a leak would be a perfect way of encouraging support for such a network by making people angry and paranoid…

think legitimate is a bit of a strong word. 😉 u might change it for ‘legal’. i think people shouldn’t be ashamed of political allegences, but the BNP arnt jus any old party.

    :group_hug

A member of any political party has a rite to privacy & with freedom of speech they have a rite to be a member of a party that voices there opinions. They should also have a rite to a job so long as the private life does not affect there judgement.

All this has done is given the BNP more publicity probably done by themselves.

As for indymedia they can kiss my ass theres actually a photo of me on one of there ‘anti protests’ there about as ‘indy’ as the Star. One min there kissing my ass for a protest & party I was involved with next there saying I’m scum for attending a Irish Protestant cultural event…

IMO racists shouldnt be employed in youth work/carers/police/etc. if some of them lose their jobs as a result of this good.
You can say what ever you like about ‘so long as they dont take thier views to work with them’ etc, but you wouldnt let a peodophile work in a school so long as he didnt fiddle the kids would you?
its impossible for people to just switch emotions/views off as soon as they step through a door IMO of course.

I’d have pedos hanging from lamp posts but thats a diffrent kettle of fish to a BNP member.

there’s a bloke from devon who works with young offenders on that list. I don’t think you could do that job in a fair and detached way when you actively support a racist organisation and the decisions that youth justice boards make about individual young people will affect the rest of their lives

so do think it should affect your job prospects because i believe it will affect how you do your job

exactly. if you are predjudiced it will always effect how you do a job. Racist people think they are right to think the way they do. They might realise that they should hide it as it could get them sacked, but they havent changed the way they think they are still racist. Just not openly. In some cases peodophiles actually realise they have a problem and get councelling etc, im not saying they should work in schools, but how many racists do you know that get councelling to stop being such a racist. Also racism stems from a lack of intelligence and fear of the unknown. not things your really gonna want if your an employer.
