The Greens got the highest increase percentage of all parties. However they didn’t gain any seats.
they didn’t lose any either
Yeah but the Greens was supposed to benefit from disillusioned Labour voters, they did in terms of voting numbers but not gaining any more seats is fucking annoying tbh. They were always gonna retain those two seats anyway.
I think the BNP have been successful because they have capitalised on the failings of Labour. New Labour sold their socialist soul to Thatcherism and abandoned it’s working class supporters. The BNP then infiltrated working class areas, and using it’s very clever campaign techniques convinced people that the reason behind both economic and social inequality was because of immigrants, rather than the actual reason: free market fundamentalism, capitalism, power and wealth distribution and Maggie fucking Thatcher.
I live in an area in which the vocal majority are right-wing if not far-right, and I understand the mentality behind their tendencies. However it still makes no logical sense. The media doesn’t help, papers like the Mail and the Sun stir up so much Islamophobia and as we know people tend to look past the actual facts. I’m heard the economic crisis blamed on Muslims.
Political correctness is a bit of a non-issue to be honest. It’s a phrase coined by the media. There is very little legislation that actually limits what people can or cannot say, with the exception of the Inciting Racial Hatred charge, which is relevant to promoting violence or infringeing on another’s right as a human on the basis of ethnicity or religion. It doesn’t mean we can’t call a blackboard a blackboard, or critisice Islam, or that a “manhole” is sexist by law – that shit is lifted right out the Daily Mail.
As for Griffin exposing corruption and fixing, this is obviously a good thing, however I wish it wasn’t exposed by the BNP leader. If he is sucessful (which I somehow doubt) then it will create more support for the BNP. People will start thinking they are a voice for fairness which is irony at it’s most obvious.
And I disagree with your last point. The BNP are pretty much the NSDAP. They are nationalist socialists. People think of the NSDAP as always being openly fascist dictators, however they weren’t. They were democratically elected. They did not start their eleciton campaign with “excecute all Jewish people” or “Ayran race is superior”, they won the campaign through arguing socialist values for German people (it was previously the German Worker’s Party!). This is exactly what the BNP is promoting right now, obviously more relevant to the current climate. If the BNP got into power then the true face will be shown, just as the true face of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party was shown. It doesn’t happen overnight.
even better response!

Griffin to his credit has all along said its not the imigrants fault but the polititions. I’ve studyed alot of there stuff on youtube. I realy wanted to get an idea of what there about. I think you could right about the BNP-NSDAP thing but if they sudenly did that they would loose alot of there respectable members. There ranks have swelled over recent years with Doctors, Uni lecturers, Vicars, lords & ladys ect. they even got one or two former Greens & Eco animal rights types. Griffin has a sorded Nazi past but these folks havnt.
I want the big three out I like the Greens eco policy, drugs and crime & law & order policy but there very limp wristed when it comes to other things. The BNP have a good eco policy but there hidden racism, drugs & crime policys & some of there thugs puts me right off.
If I voted it would probbly be the Greens my fave political party is the PUP of Northern Ireland but theres no similar party on the mainland. The PUP are a grass roots socialist party with Unionist leanings.
