There may be a similar post somewhere on the site, but I failed to find it if there is one.
Basically I’m doing a piece of research on how the rave scene influenced the criminal just bill being brought in, and how it has effected the scene.
It is in the form of a literature review, so I need to find as many published sources on the subject as I can.
Can anyone suggest anything? I’ve found a few bits an bobs, but mainly about about what happened years ago. I’d be very interested to know if anyone knows of anything thats got info on the recent years. It’s probably very unlikely, but would be amazing if anyone could suggest anything.
Cheers in advance.
the bulk of the big action did happen years ago! After the CJA was passed it wasn’t really enforced for many years against raves until the post 2001 decline in the economy, as it was only then that locals really started whinging about them.
By then it was law and most uses of it were only enough to warrant reporting in local crime news rather than national media. Some bits of it do get used as part of dispersal orders against youths, in 2005 it was also used against a licensed legal UK garage/urban music event in South London as rude boys were having running battles in the street!
Look in the archives of newspapers for this sort of info..
