and they have christmas markets and for someone / me who couldnt give a shit about xmas here – its lovely
I been to cyprus quite a few times, Mr Tanks step mum and brother live there, his bro works in bars and clubs singing the ‘blues brothers’ 😉
ahh .. hehe .. it’s nice there i am told .. hopefully gonna be about 70-80 deg so much better than here 🙂
it is nice if you go to the local places to eat and sample a bit of the traditional stuff,
very over populated with ‘brits abroad’, chips and burgers
I hated Ayia Nappa but stuff like that has never been my thing
but a holiday is a holiday and I think you need and deserve one  and sunshine is always good
and the sea is beautiful and swimmable :bounce_fl

Braindrop 027
Friday 5th December ’08
Artist Line-Up
The McMash ClanBraindrop
Braindrop residents The McMash Clan are back to smash the main arena to smithereens with their inimitable 5 deck turntablist trickery. Dudgy, Hallmark and Major Kooms use decks, CDJs, scratch mixers and FX to cut, tear and juggle their way through D&B dubstep, electro, hardcore, breaks, techno, breakcore, gabba, hip hop, psy-trance and whatever else takes their fancy. Expect a meticulously structured set planned down to the last bar, bridged by triple drops, CDJ turntablism, scratch-offs and unfeasibly massive bass. And a number of their own productions to boot. Nobody does anything like what these boys do. This is Turntablecore. Drop yer’ brains!

The Correspondents
We proudly present to you The Correspondents. Many of you will recognise this hugely original live act from the festival circuit over the last couple of years. They have repeatedly stolen the show at every show they’ve played at, including Glastonbury, Bestival and Secret Garden Party with their huge, energetic performances. Vocalist Mr Bruce and producer / DJ Chuckles take the best bits of classic swing music and bring it bang up to date. Booming basslines and big-band brass skip their way over swingin’, chunky beats and hip-hop edits, whilst the dapper pair skat, sing, scratch, dance and generally mash up de dance 1920’s stylee. Their show-stopping Jungle Book routine turned an empty Secret Garden Party 2008 main stage into a thousand strong throng of raving, screaming lunatics – and left them begging for more. Check out their Myspace to see the video, which features some quality dance moves form the inimitable Mr Bruce. These boys are going to be absolutely massive. Welcome to Braindrop!

Ninja Tune/Offkey/Suicide/Dub/Molten VinylHigh Rankin
We welcome back the super-sonic force of High Rankin to our main arena. Last time he played Braindrop he tore the roof off with an unbelievably fat selection of his own D&B / dubstep productions (remember his bootlegs of Black Sabbath / Snow Patrol?) and exclusive dubs from the likes of Current Value and Audio. We are pleased to inform you that Mr Rankin has been a very busy boy since. Over the last year he’s been snapped up by the seminal Ninja Tunes label for his remixing skills, as well as having been commissioned by Si Begg and Raiden to re-rub their latest releases. As for his original productions- both Weather Report and Hills Have Eyes have enjoyed heavy rotation by the upper echelons of the D&B / breakcore community, whilst the absolutely massive, DJ-Fresh-endorsed Alice has become a tear-out classic in its own right. High Rankin returns to Braindrop for our Christmas party. Brace yourselves for an FX laden journey that bounds manically between D&B, dubstep, breakcore and grime. Big!

Markomen vs J:Kenzo
Gosh! Nu-skool dubstep titans Markomen and J:Kenzo return to battle it out for bass-weight supremacy. Marko and Jay are two of dubstep’s finest up and coming producersÐ most of you dub headz will know Marko’s newest release, Numberz Dub, which has recently been blowing the roof off raves worldwide. And check out J:Kenzo’s recent “Tekno Bass” – a hybrid 4×4 / half-time electro influenced monster that’s been enjoying heavy rotation on the scene. This monthly DJ soundclash has grown to be a massively popular and central part of each and every Braindrop party. Bellzeboo
For the last hour of the night (5-6am) we totally switch up the music in each room. Whilst Room 2 switches from dubstep to hard & fast beats, we change up the main room into a half moon-party style psytrance stomp-off. And it really works! This psychedelic shamen blew quite a few minds when he played the closing main-room set back in June. Tooled up with a pair of Kaos pads and CDJs, Bellzeboo loops, cuts and chops his way through whirring psy-trance and blissed out psy-breaks. Brace yourself for thumping kicks, elastic sample trickery and pulsating underwater bass frequencies. Bless.

Bass, Joy, Fun, Happiness – Braindrop’s Zero Tolerance Policy on bad vibes
Bass, Joy, Fun, Happiness…
Thanks to everyone who came down to the September Braindrop – one of our favorites so far. The place was rammed to the rafters, the music was incredible and the vibes were better than ever.
We made a massive effort to keep an eye on things throughout the night to ensure that maximum fun was had by everybody – and that Braindrop is a safe environment to be in.
Our new “Zero Tolerance” policy worked fantastically. Working together with Jacks security team we made sure that everybody coming into Braindrop was bringing strictly good vibes. Anybody turning up at the door with an attitude did not get in.
The new signs posted up around the venue state that anyone who shows the slightest hint of aggression, discriminatory behaviour, sleaziness to girls or general disrespect to anybody at Braindrop will be ejected. We patrolled the club all night to ensure this was the case. And we encouraged you to inform us of anything untoward.
At the very beginning of the night we acted on a tip off that somebody in the club had caused trouble at the July event. After keeping an eye on the individual for a period of time (and noticing that they were acting disrespectfully and making others feel uneasy) we decided to eject them.
Subsequently the rest of the night passed without any problems whatsoever… and everybody enjoyed one of the best atmospheres that Braindrop’s ever had.
The Zero Tolerance policy is here to stay. Braindrop has always been about Bass, Joy, Fun and Happiness. Just love for the music and each other. And that ethos has been reflected in the steady growth of the safe, friendly, good vibes community that it is today. Thank you!
I hope its full of snowy then how could the party goes on he he he….
