(synopsis) Breaking Bad is an American television drama series created and produced by Vince Gilligan. Set and produced in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Breaking Bad is the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with advanced lung cancer at the beginning of the series. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine with a former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), with the aim of securing his family’s financial future before he dies.
He then takes on the pseudonym ‘Heisenburg’
Walt’s stunning transition from meek chemistry teacher to Scarface-in-training drug lord. When Walt puts on his black porkpie hat and trenchcoat and becomes Heisenberg, he’s able to commit hideously gruesome acts that regular Walt would never be capable of. It’s a form of psychological compartmentalization that lets Walt distance himself from his evil acts and convince himself he’s still a good person.

Why is it so popular?
For a start, every episode ends on a cliffhanger..or a ‘how the fuck can they get out of this one?’ ending.
The science it incorporated is supposedly flawless. Heisengurg uses science in all situations from cooking the meth, tracking people down, covering up his tracks and occasionally murder.
The soundtrack has all these extremely tense industrial scores.
The plot line is ever changing and the main characters ingenious way get out of this ‘cat and mouse chase’ is unscathed.
The characters are complex and the actors play the roles convincingly.
