in that film, the hotels were turned into hospitals, money was abolished and vouchers introduced representing ‘hours of labour’
where did the student doctors and nurses, who staffed those hospitals, get their vouchers from? how did the sick earn vouchers? who developed the medicines? all of that depended on the out-going ‘society’
in a microcosm, anarchy works, on a homestead scale. but when the farmer breaks his or her foot, or dies leaving 3 children, what support is in place? if there is support, then it is from ‘society’
i don’t like capitalism either, so that isn’t the issue
both democracy and anarchy were born in barcelona (true democracy, that included women and the working classes)
i’m not proposing that we lie down and accept capitalism and social control from centralised bureaux, but the abolition of society is equally unappealing to me
