the news head lines too follow this day will be …..

“this recordbreaking day where the least amout has been spent in englands shops since 1896 stangely follows the day that has seen an all time high in spending habits” :laugh_at:

    i love buy nothing day

have done a few things for it before… one year me and a few mates dragged some sofas into town and set up a chill out space in the shopping centre… played a bit of music and a free sit down, a cup of tea and a chat

Ah you see I have not 1 penny to spend till the 28th so a quick spend would be deserved for me I think 😉

this is the problem…on facebook people are saying ‘but its pay day’ and but its saturday’ and ‘its the saturday after pay day’

in a way its an advert for free parties really…what other night out could you get all your supplies the day before?!

ah i thought you ment in an indoor shopping center … doubt you would get away with that … i like that idea .. pretty cool :weee:

yep, its not an offence to move a sofa around by hand in a public place.

TBH in this case most rentaguards / cops would assume its a student prank or something for youtube and ignore it unless someone actually complained.

unfortunately Ipswich is a pokey narrow town with little free space, plus some of the people I know in town seem to barely have the motivation to move their own rig let alone cart a heavy sofa through town. And in the only place you could put it the market traders would grass you up within seconds, they even made the council move the town Christmas tree!
