well buzby was trying to call his “bird”, but due to a red telephone ended up getting bare beef from a bull.. people were easily amused back then…

incidentally the phone only started ringing ages later after his bovine adventure (this was actually about right for the 1980s BT network!)…

plus he is actually also speaking to his missus whilst stark bollock naked (other than his feathers). And to think they showed this to innocent children (probably why my generation grew up like it did) :laugh_at:
