My friends grandfather told us one day, that he was at his ffiends house and he had buds growing on a stem from soil. has anyone else ever herd of this if so how?
Do you mean a natural outside grow or literally a stem with buds on it?
Of course the fist is possible, how do you think the plant grows naturally in the wild? If you’re referring to the latter no I’m pretty certain this is not possible. Although you don’t have to grow the plant from seed. It is possible, although quite difficult and takes knowledge and practice to master (unless you get lucky), to take a plant graft and grow that to get a clone of the ‘mother’ plant it was trimmed off. To succeed in growing a cloned plant from a graft you need to ensure you have selected the healthiest specimen available to optimise the chances of survival, as obviously cutting part of the plant off from the rest of the plant (i.e. the lifeline that feeds it nutrients from the soil) causes it distress. If the clone survives then it will develop it’s own root system and become an independent plant.
