to be fair the Provos who were less puritanical about drugs (their views on this subject are divided) stopped with a lot of the violence a few decades ago and (via various Scousers) were often a source of high quality drugs in the UK; although in the 90s both Provos and UVF tried to get into drugs dealing and (predictably) caused a lot of fighting and turf wars; making holding raves anywhere in NI a perilous business (in the 90s I was told all manner of anecdotes about this from folk in the region or with links to it).
The Good Friday Agreement was signed in the euphoria of the late 1990s when the EU came close to decriminalising both cannabis and MDMA. Unfortunately quite recently the anti-drugs paramilitaries started shooting people again a few months ago and it looked like it was about to kick off in NI once more (thankfully this appears not to be the case).
As for making this e-liquid; other than fire hazards proof spirit is way expensive in this country. About €45 for a 70cl bottle; yet about 11 years ago a friend of mine bought in France this bottle just marked “Alcool – 96 – Bon goût” for €3 which was just that. The contents were used to make a tincture of stray leaves; stalks and other leftovers with some THC content but inconvenient to process for smoking; this bottle lasted a shared house full of hardcore hedonists over a year.
I wouldn’t put propylene glycol into it either; I’m sure thats the stuff you put in smoke effects machines at raves….
