  • ok im not a traveller just a guy who has come stuck and have to move out on my own (no misses or kid) i am more than happy to live in a caravan and save on rent for a while but is it ilegal to live on the road side? i still have a job etc but just cant afford to rent on my own

    GET ORF MY LARND!

lol daft can i run a extension lead from your house?

yeah I think it’s illigal to live on the road side. … even pitching a tent up somewhere with out permission could be classed as illigal afaik. This is why travelers have so many problems. It’s a fucking joke.

hahaha I’ll set you up your own meter 😉

ah i see well me and the misses are splitting her idea after 11 years and a 1.5year old son but not much i can do we are spliting on good terms we both have joint tenancy were we live but i would never see them in a hostel or shared house so i will leave them the flat and go myself i got debts so cant afford private rent so im thinking caravan or maybe if possible big loan for a canal boat its all justa thought and like i say were on good terms so no rush

even with a canal boat you’d have to pay moring fees (what are like 5-25 pounds on the theams per night iirc – depending on what part and tbh probably alot more now as this was like over 15 years ago)

there are places you can just more on other rivers tho i would imagin. but canals are old trade routs that have managed to stay comercial mainly by holiday makers i recon. I’ve never lived on a canal boat tho only rented one so i’m probably only seeing it from my perspective. It might work out cheaper to have a caravan, and you have alot more freedom to travel, however on the other hand i’d happily sacravise all the caravan benifits to have the sceenery you’ll get waking up on a river every morning.

btw you don’t have to get a canal boat .. they do small live in motor boats what i would imagin are less to buy.

there’s a great traveller forum that I forget the name of, they will know the score. Someone here will know it.

yeah im sorry too mate she is a great girl i cant fault her at all but i just gotta understand how she feels and stay good friends

look on TL and some chap there was mentioning cheap moorings on Grand Union by Heathrow. I expect it is noisy from aircraft but its way cheaper than normal London costs.

Living in a vehicle presents a number of issues (as well as legality of where you stop) depending when you got your driving license and what size it is and what you plan to do with it, as well as stuff like emissions zones in London.

thanks gl i was thinking more caravan than motor home just cos there cheaper i have hgv2 license . well just looking around at options for now were on good terms so there is no hurry but i want to leave them the flat and go myself .

gl sorry not being lazy i did look on that forum seems real big if you have a link to that mooring would you post it not sure it will happen yet depends if i get a big enough loan but heathrow aint to far for me

I know someone who stays on the roadside in his caravan. Never has any problems along as he changes his spot every couple of days. He has 3/4 places that he switches between.
