So besides the EDM scene, general alternative lifestyle choices, religion and of course ManBearPig, bacon also seems to be a fairly prominent topic of conversation here on PV. So a question I’m surprised hasn’t been asked before is ‘how do you like yours?
For me it’s smokey, grilled until crispy on thick sliced white bread with brown sauce and a generous dash of white pepper.
Preferably fried (although grilled is nice too) until crispy with chilli flakes & ground black pepper on brown bread with tomato ketchup. Smoked or unsmoked either is coo’ as long as its bacon. BLT = peng also.
Fried until crispy, smoked all the way in a ratio of 1:1 (I normally have 2:2) with fried eggs in a sandwhich with a lot of black pepper and ketchup.
Smoked or its not bacon, fried (probably in lard if it wasn’t for the calories) in a light olive oil, ketchup.
im vegetarian. so my post was pointless 🙂
Hmmm, bacon. I don’t mind if it’s smoked or unsmoked (although smoked is better imo). Don’t care how it’s cooked or what it’s served with.
It’s bacon!
Morrisons do a “savers” cooking bacon in 500g packs for 81p!!! Awesome for liver and bacon casserole, bacon sarnies, salads etc and it’s half a frikkin kilo for under a squid!!!!
My mate does organic bacon and other pork products from hand reared, free range pigs that he breeds himself. SO different to the supermarket stuff. Don’t get a chance to stock up very often as he’s in Cambridgeshire but I’ll be moving a lot closer to there sometime in the next couple of months so Bibby bacon, Bibby sausages and Bibby porkbellies here we come!
I do like a nice bacon and brie baguette though.
Grilled, served on thick sliced bread (brown or white, as long as it’s thick sliced it’s cool), with either fried or scrambled egg, or some mushrooms – black pepper comes as standard. I like the fact that so many people like pepper with their bacon sarnie, good on ya PVers!
bacon done on the bbq is good actually, nice thick smoked stuff cooked on coals.

Yeah man, that is a nice way of doing it – definitely better than your earlier preference of olive oil, ha ha!

Am I the only one that prefers white pepper?
Smokey, fried to it’s crispy state then served with HP barbecue sauce. I don’t really like pepper tbh
Fried is best, but only when dried properly ( nothing worst then a pool of fatty oil ), smoked definitely, thick cut, not crispy ( crispy means burned ), full cooked breaky is best, BLT a close 2nd, but if you have nothing else to eat it with then brown sauce not red.
Warning: This post will give you a heart attack
Crisp (almost burnt) bacon, between two thick buttered slices of toast, crispy chicken smothered in bbq sauce and ranch all topped with melted cheddar cheese….omg
