Oh yeah I don’t propose getting rid of the police force. There are some sound cops yeah. I think the top dogs of the London Met need to change for sure. ‘Cos it seems like when someone gets evidence against one of the rotten, bad coppers, the administration of the Met just shrugs it off.
Surely the right way would be to weed out the bastards and promote the good cops so they can have an influence.

Hey- that was my 1,000th post!
I feel special!
everyone (including the Met!) seems to be being sensible so far – I wonder how long it will last? TBH I reckon the cops will be too busy dealing with the resurgence of footy hooligans and the usual risks from Notting Hill carnival to do too much against climate camp anyway.
I also suspect that metpol will make much more extensive use of snouts and maybe even infiltrated detectives to get deeper into the campaign groups and maybe disrupt the more agressive forms of direct action like actually trying to disrupt working power stations – but if they leave alone the genuinely harmless or positive activists this might not be such a bad thing.
if there’s one advantage of football hooliganism, it makes protests look like nice guys, which of course we all know the vast majority are, but the general public doesnt seem to.
