Crush them up and put them in a glass of cold water – not a lot is needed, i’d use around half a glass just to be sure though.
Leave it for 20-40 minutes (longer the better) and leave it undisturbed.
Then pour the solution through a coffee filter, old piece of material (I’ve used socks (clean of course) and they seem to work well) making sure that you keep any matter out – the idea is that codeine is water soluble where as paracetamol isn’t fully water soluble. You will never remove all the paracetamol but can remove around 70% or so at a rough guess, meaning your liver will thank you.
You can filter it as many times as you seem necessary, but as long as you don’t do this to often i find once to be enough.
Also you can purchase 500mg/8mg – those are the ones i use.
Also may want to add a few more then you’ll need, as some can be lost – have you done codeine before?
