If it’s worth anything, I started by taking up a hobby that kept me away from my mates (sounds awful I know, but with them the lifestyle and temptation was always there), but knowing I had to get up for something in the morning meant I wouldn’t go out the night before and just watch a film etc. Use sleeping pills to get an early night although a hot bath with oils/bubble bath and some of that yogi herbal sleepy tea honestly helps (I think it was the habitual nature of how I’d go to sleep, tea, bath, bed). For me it was scuba diving in a horrible lake, but I loved it, met people not in the party scene, realised for the first time in my life that actually most people DON’T take drugs (a genuine shock at the time). Rock climbing was good too, much cheaper but a big rush and a whole lot of very attractive girls (again, by it’s nature they had healthier lifestyles) helped.
