I got given 6 500mg codeine pills from a friend, they’re prescription ones. How much should I take to get high/is 6 enough? Also would it be worth taking them with morphine sulphate (also someone’s prescription, it’s oramorph if the brand thing makes a difference)?

Swim says be careful of taking 6 simultanously, unfortunately they tend to not sit well in the stomach, take 2 then maybe half an hour ish later take the next two, then half an hour ish later take the last two, otherwise you’re likely to end up being sick and will waste them. You will still get the same buzz from them and taking them at slight intervals will prolong it. You could take them with Morphine sulphate but Swims not sure how worth it it would be, depending on the dosage of morphine you may over sedate yourself and lose the buzz of the codeine. Maybe try a little morphine and see, it’s better to use smaller doses of morphine to start with anyway to find what works for you as your body will quickly develop a tolerance to morphine.

if you do not have any opiates tolerance that potentially is a very high dose to start with. the brand does not make a difference for morphine sulphate, what is important is the mg/ml strength.

Morphine has a stronger effect but the only person I know who recently took it regularly isn’t around any more (not because of an OD; he had a lot of stuff wrong with him); and I got the impression he found the buzz more of a nuisance as he was this top electronics professor and it wasn’t easy to concentrate on the projects he wanted to build or to teach people when you are full of that stuff.

I have only taken codeine a handful of times – it does not appeal to me unless I’ve got some genuine pain (i.e from overexertion whilst on stimulants, such as riding 50 km on my bicycle across SE England when I lived there) and didn’t think there was as much recreational potential in it – though I am wary of opiates as I see people full of them all the time at work and hope it is a good 30 or so years before I need to take anything like that.

I would not suggest combining the the two or taking too much as the Ambulance service is busy enough tonight as it is (I can see how many are getting called out in some regions as it happens as they’ve had to reintroduce an unencrypted comms system which is as nearly as old as myself and my professor friend worked on when he was younger..)

Just a heads up, codeine and morphine are super addictive.
If you are going to take them, space out your doses. So if you get high tonight, wait a while before getting high again. It doesn’t take your body long to get used to the substance and you will get quite ill after taking it regularly and stopping.

I’m suspecting something is wrong with the OP. Highest dosed prescription codeine sulphate is 90mg and a 500mg dose would have anyone with no tolerance on their back.

They told me it was 500mg but could be wrong, they fell off a roof or something so they got it prescribed for that

I made the mistake of using morphine pretty much non-stop for 5 day a while ago, I ended up passing out a class and throwing up in another~

If I were below age 70-80 I’d be a bit worried if the doctors were prescribing Oramorph and codeine in enough quantity to divert to friends; not so much because of the addiction risks but that would hint whatever injuries/pain sustained been considered to be life changing and potentially terminal. My prof friend grew up at the height of the swinging sixties (before he passed on he told me loads of interesting info about the underground pyschedelic music scene of those decades and his involvement in it until a very good friend of his had serious mental health issues from overdoing drugs). I remember him hinting that he thought there wasn’t long left when they started letting him take the stuff home (as healthy people even in their late middle / early elderly years are otherwise still scrutinised by cops/borderforce as diversion risks).

There are a however few far younger (< age 80) patients at my work at one site; most end up there because of various long term chronic pain issues or more often one mistake on the roads that leaves them badly injured.

The oramorph was my mums prescription that she had forgot about, it’s for a neck injury that she’s had for a whole that sometimes starts to hurt, she is under 70 ahah.

that can often classed as long term / life changing injuries – I know a few younger people legitimately on these medications for that reason because of the after effects of crashes or other accidents. it can be a bit awkward for them and the NHS if they have anything like a hedonistic lifestyle as both the patients and carers are constantly under the lamp being watched for diversion; and police officers do not always expect to find young people with legitimate supplies of these substances.

Dude there’s no such thing as 500mg codeine pills.

You can get 500 paracetamol (that’s the english name for the painkiller anyway) and then codeine in them. normally 500/8 500/12 500/15 or 500/30.

Hopefully you have 500/30. But even then the most you can get in you without starting to really push it and get ill is 90mg or 120mg. Which tbh, is nice, but pretty wank really.
