TBH this is a sad indictment on the kind of people who become “DJ’s” nowadays – compared to the vinyl era high quality legitimate downloads of EDM tracks from reputable online businesses such as Juno etc really are dirt cheap; and the artists only get a few cents of revenue as it is. This is brand new content being ripped off (unlike a free download of something like an old-skool vinyl which has been deleted 26 years and you couldn’t buy even if you wanted to).
There is no genuine moral reason to resort to the darknet to obtain modern EDM downloads – they are not controlled substances and EDM is very rarely censored anywhere in the world.
Just this week I’ve had several promotional tweets from well known European trance and house DJ’s who are playing in countries which have fairly conservative governments and Islam as the majority religion; yet they and their music (in the middle of an era of global conflict) is being welcomed with open arms…
