[h=1]Contaminated ecstasy batch may have killed up to five people as two arrested[/h]
[h=2]A contaminated batch of ecstasy could be responsible for the deaths of up to five young people as police warn more people could die if the pills continue to circulate.[/h]
Two “apparently fit young men” from the same town in Wigan died this week after taking drugs.
A third man, a 26-year-old, died in Liverpool on Sunday and is believed to have taken tablets – possibly ecstasy – before he collapsed. Greater Manchester Police are not currently linking his death to the two in their region, but said they could not discount a connection.
The tragedy follows two suspected drug deaths in Derbyshire before Christmas. Police believe brightly coloured heart-shaped tablets containing PMA – a far stronger and more toxic drug than Ecstasy – could have been responsible for a number of deaths of recreational drug users in the county.
PMA is known as Pink Ecstasy, Dr Death or Pink McDonald.
The warning comes as two men, aged 33 and 34, were arrested by Great Manchester Police investigating the deaths in Wigan. They are being questioned on suspicion of being concerned in supplying a controlled drug.

PMA once again! arrrgh!!!!!
Prohibition strikes again.
I don’t understand why people sell shit like that…..
Nobody gain anything by selling drugs that kills
On the contrary 🙁
Unfortunately PMA is cheaper and easier to make than MDMA, (the chemical reactions are simpler) and even if it were all legalised tomorrow that would still be a problem during a time of economic depression, unless governments also had the balls not just to decriminalise but to spend taxpayers money on regulation and monitoring.
After all, it is perfectly legal to sell and eat meat and most folk who are not vegetarians due to personal choice or faith groups do so – but in Europe the law is that the species of what you are eating must be correctly shown at points of sale and processing. Yet half of Europe has been sold horsemeat instead of beef.
the bulk of these incidents (that are happening across Northern Europe) happen with middle dealers from their 30s to their mid 40s selling stuff to customers in their teens and 20s. They often obtain the bulk substances from men their parents age (60-80), who work in maritime and construction industries in coastal areas, and thus have the opportunity to smuggle in all sorts of items.
Many of these older, middle level dealers do not take the pills regularly themselves, as they still have other real life responsibilities, often with families or children of their own. They may have done so in the 1990s, and PMA was still around back then – however pills were way too expensive to binge on and greedy people usually got nicked for theft or fraud before they had an opportunity to OD, and drug users are often worried about heart attacks/strokes which become an increasing risk especially to a male aged 35-65…
They do become dependent to an extent on the cash income provided by the drugs trade – often using it to support their families especially if they are in certain jobs or trades where a lot of work is self employed freelance stuff rather than a guaranteed salary.
Often other issues such as lack of work or overwork and/or relationship problems (as well as the effects of increasing age and the onset of health problems) can eat away at their empathy for anyone. This is what makes folk buy a bulk supply of cheaper pills which may or may not contain worse chemicals, especially if they have taken one or two themselves that even if they contained PMA in small doses are more than likely to result in a rough comedown rather than anything worse, and the dealer genuinely thinks this is due to his advancing age rather than suspecting contamination. Also they cannot make use of testing services even where available as there are deliberate limits on the amounts which can be tested and they are not as anonymous as they claim to be.
Its no different really from how these men often drive badly and get involved in bad crashes, or take short cuts with safety procedures at work and lead to themselves and others being harmed. It is not because they genuinely hate the other people on the road or their customers, and if they survive the incident they are often genuinely remorseful in Court or prison – but it only takes a few bad incidents in someones life to make them do bad things.
I know myself that at this age, had I not been lucky enough to get a decent job with a good, caring employer, I could easily have become disaffected and have turned to various kinds of criminal activities, and selling drugs could be the least of them.
Any news here Daft?
It would be good if it was the right people they arrested.
More deaths and more arrest …
Fifteen arrests have now been made in connection with the Derbyshire investigation. A 21-year-old man, a 33-year-old man, an 18-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, all from the High Peak area, were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the suspected supply of a class A drug.
The people who were previously arrested have been released on police bail pending further police investigations.
On Wednesday two men arrested in connection with the Wigan deaths were bailed without charge.

Maybe allowing things like pma is way for the governement to turn around and say ‘we told you drugs are bad, now, take our good ones…’ But either way, its fucking sick

this current issue with PMA in xtc-pills around Northern Europe seems to be much more complex and goes wider than just one nations govt but isn’t quite a “global conspiracy” (in any case all non-medical use of drugs is supposed to be forbidden worldwide because of UN legislation).
To start with, MDMA is really only popular in areas where there is a thriving music scene based around EDM and night time venues that turn a blind eye to drug use as well as alcohol, unlike other less strong stimulants and relaxants which people can (and do) take simply to help them with work tasks and not even be noticed…
These events are usually held in low income areas of big cities.
in recent years there has been intense scrutiny cast on the financial value of the night time economy across Northern Europe (i.e does it bring in enough money to offset the costs of the hedonism such as the emergency services, medical treatment, clearing up after dropped litter and a greater risk of minor crime in the area). If a venue becomes popular with drug users (especially in a coastal area) that area is also at risk of dealers fighting for the most profitable areas, which even full legalisation would only go part way towards solving – it is legal to sell ice cream, burgers and kebabs with the correct traders license but there are plenty of incidents of rivals attacking one anothers businesses.
Many have been restricted because of this. if the same coastal area still uses its ports and docks the maritime economy is worth a lot more and less hassle, especially as container ships have a very small crew for their size, and they don’t even get shore leave in the UK because of immigration rules, and those are owned by big companies who cooperate with Border Force/Douane to ensure that there isn’t any “extra” cargo being brought on board. Also anyone below age 80 with their own small vessel is going to be searched at least once and there are regular checks by a mixture of the Coastguard, Ofcom and the Royal Navy to ensure these vessels are in the positions they claim to be.
PMA is usually produced accidentally as a by product in one synthesis and with production having shifted to Asia from NL mistakes can get worse – especially as these new pills have the chemicals combined in quantities that would fool a marquis type testing kit. Another recent development NL drugs testing labs being put under intense pressure from those politicians who disagree with them (the so called “Freedom” party being one of them), and the authorities watch them to ensure they are not working in cahoots with dealers.
They recently put out an appeal on pillreports to stop posting reports which often mentioned the lab used as it could mean their council funding is stopped. The rest of the funding increasingly appears to be provided by semi anonymous donations from Christian organisations – Dutch Roman Catholics, and some of the more liberal Protestants. NL is more religious than it claims to be – some parts of it have some really full on Calvinists and other less pleasant types (as found in the USA) who they have land and power, are too stubborn to emigrate to the USA (like others have done) and dilute NL’s tolerance.
So moderate Christians realise that allowing some sin is permissible, MDMA use by educated middle class youths reduces youth tension between different communities (there are also a lot of young Muslims) and drug testing is more a gesture of forgiveness than acceptance of the behaviour, anyone over 30 who keeps getting pulled up for drugs will be referred to more rehab.
NL is also actively trying to shake off the image as being the “drug dealers of Europe” and is taking precautions to ensure that young people are not using the labs to surreptitiously test a batch of pills which gets sold online across the water, there is a lot of internal monitoring of the phones and internet by the MIVD (foreign intelligence ministry) – in fact it turned out they were feeding the NSA PRISM with info with full knowledge and they work with the domestic Police as well as UK Border Force. I’m sure they are both very suspicious of why I decided to suddenly learn Dutch, as even with electronics there are certain things UKBF really do not like being sent over from NL (such as certain types of radio transmitters) even though I have no plans of making one.
But all this (and the downsizing of the testing) doesn’t stop people who have become dependent on drugs sales as their main income from still trying it, and the bad stuff ends up across Europe totally by accident – welfare benefits aren’t as easy to get in NL, but the paying work available is often zero hour contracts/part time/seasonal and someone isn’t going to flush €2000 of pills down the WC if the profit from them what is helping feed their kids and keep them in school…
