Do you get much trouble at these events? I have always wanted to go to Noting Hill Carnival but the whole people getting stabbed and mugged puts me off.
Only 6 arrests after having 3 days with 100 000 people each day out in the streets, the police said it was way less trouble than a normal saturday as mentioned earlier in thread…so no bullshit here only PARTY!
the free party dosent end at midnight as I mentioned before but at 0500….

Now this years Distortion is well over. Some criticism have been raised(littering, pissing etc) but on monday the tourist boss of wonderful copenhagen said that the city was nicer than a normal monday morning and distortion is here to stay wherever people like it or not! They can leave the city for this annual event and let the rest have their ball! Police said that they had less to do than a normal saturday and they would like to show how things can be ran smooth and points at us!
What can I say….
Party ON!

There was as many arrests at just one horse racing event in England that weekend! I think a lot of it though is due to people appreciating the effort put into an event and being able to socialise together without excessive conflict which English party people no longer do as much.
One thing I noticed about the films was how many people were from different ethnic groups all partying together peacefully, whereas I’d heard a lot of different stories about mainstream life in DK not being as multicultural as England..
As a contrast for the Notting Hill carnival in London they use 30 000 police officers from Scotland Yard, the cops are less harsh than originally they were 20-40 years ago but there is serious problems with gangs trying to start fights there – cops have to go round most of London the week before rounding up the gangs and weapons..
They want us to segregate but we do not let them do that, our hired in security was 50/50 danes and other ethnic origin just for an example…the thing is normal people do not have problems with this muliculti…but the right wings want us to belive they are bad bad…but we do not care anymore, because we know otherwise, so instead bitching about it we show the rest that we are all here and we are together! This upcoming weekend we a carnival…with a electronic stage as well…our last weekend sound-truck is now rebuilt to be a socca-truck, jamaican-style!
Ok folks; Hope to see you next year 30 May – 3 June 2012!
Party ON!

HELLØ OSLO DISTORTION TRIP

This is a video from the HELLØ OSLO DISTORTION trip.
The idea was to spread the sober and sophisticated Distortion spirit to Oslo.
I think we kinda did.
We had a blast I hope you enjoy our fun on camera.
Is Oslo ready for their own Distortion? Only time will tell.
(if you hear that danchall intro, that was me being dictator of the music, its the intro of the Universal Soundsystem mix tape ‘badder than dem’… sumtimes asa driver U just need force some music through :D)
is that the bus you drive?
Looks good, shame we don’t have this very often in England.
However in Brighton there is a community bus company which also does special party bus runs to and from night time venues and festivals.. and they also run normal service buses in the daytime to help keep the business going and so the whole community can make use of them. I think this is a good idea…
We got for this a new raver bus, proivided by the normal omni-bus company a 13meter one….
both were used to drive people all morning and out in streets before and during the party
+ that ‘deer’ drinking company provided a double decker and the beer company one (12m), so we had in total 4 raver busses
