What I mean is, in international law (AFAIK) (see, I’m learning), if a nation, lets say New Zealand, they have the Union Jack on there flag which denotes its a principality of the UK. Now, Yes this and other have there own governing body and parliamentary system, but they still answer to the UK, as does Canada, The Gambia, Ghana (not so much anymore), Guyana(Dutch also have claim to it), the Cook isle’s, Trinidad & Tobago, Gibraltar, New Zealand (as afore mentioned), Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and a number of small island nations in the pacific and Caribbean belt.
Ok the TRADE empire has gone, but the legal ‘rights and ownership’ are still in majority share of the UK.
I’m not some nationalist loon, I’m just fascinated as to the quantity of land Great Britain has a steak in.
I’m well into my geography……..Although, I’m not 100% on the legitimacy of ^this, this is mearly what I can deduce form what I see. So its pretty much guesstemation on my behalf.
