lets put away for one moment all the conspiracy theories and prejudices about the police being fascist dictators etc blindly following rules, and perhaps consider that they are just normal human beings with a different attitude to rules and regulations than us ravers, with decades of experience of what can happen when people bend the rules?
if this is the case, why do they think that the rave scene is so dangerous it needs to be suppressd by force? could it perhaps be due to so many of my generation (the same age as the Detective Inspectors and Superintendents of today) have fucked up on both party drugs and addictive drug..
I know it almost sounds like a movie / telly script, but how many of those officers might drink a glass of Scotch at night, think of their friends or partners lost though drugs in the 1990s, and that it what gives them the passion to drive to the 0600 briefing at HQ and plan todays drugs raid……
