Way back in the 80’s and 90’s, I used crank a lot (ahh, the memories:weee:))! I recently purchased some meth and crushed it very finally and snorted a line.

Holy shit!!!

Burned like I’ve never experienced before!! Well, it kept me awake, but instead of it getting me fired up to go and do something, it was annoying. I had extreme body aches and just felt like crap. And since it kept me awake, I couldn’t even sleep off the pain/crappy feeling. I know the person I purchased it from. She uses all the time, so I hope what I received was meth.

Has anyone else experienced this type of reaction? I thought crank was just a poor mans meth and that the meth would be a better quality??

Any suggestions on what I could try instead? I miss that energy rush, where you just want to get up and go go go, but in a happy way. I’ve only ever used crank, coke, weed (and now meth) and prescription opioids in the past.

There’s some really shit speed going about at the moment… i’ve had similar effects as you, the come-up doesn’t really shoot you up it just kind of stops when you feel it happening and levels out and aches and stuff also had a mild urine infection (dehydration) , it keeps me awake but as you say it doesn’t get you doing very much or coming up with creative missions/projects like good stuff normally does

i didn’t mean it as a dig at you, but if you were doing crank 20-30 years ago and your neurochem has changed and your dopamine neurotransmitters aren’t the same, you may not get the expected effect.

also it could just be shoddily cooked meth, which in some respects could be of a poorer composition than crank. like korno said it could just be shit speed going around.

most likely poor quality / contaminated stuff which contains some other chemical than any sort of amfetamine (maybe ephedrine + various other rough chemicals?) Unlike MDMA or mephedrone, you do not “lose the magic” with other amfetamine-type stimulants even after years of use; with controlled substances made in underground labs it is a lack of good quality precursor chemicals and/or rushed lab work leading to bad quality stuff that makes folk ill.

Unfortunately I think the OP is in the USA so many non controlled stimuilants (which just about remain under the radar in some European countries) are banned under the Federal Analogs Act.

The level of harm from stimulant use is widely overstated and/or caused by their illegality and cultural prejudices; including from people in “alternative” communities – I’ve often wondered if this is because many non problematic stimulant users tend to put up with mainstream society (or find ways of getting round it) and often manage to hold down mainstream jobs (and otherwise seem “normal”) rather than try to openly change things. I refuse to believe that all the brainy things with computers and electronics that folk in coastal areas of Northern Europe and SE Asia as well as the heavy work of building things like ships, egg sorting machines, power supplies etc are sustained only by coffee and sausages… If it was that bad anyway, some of us would not be alive 😉

The speed today is not the same as it used to be! The old 80s speed was the best it would last for hours and you would get good rushes all day from one line! The smell was good to it smell like ether! When the firts came out it was good too my friend had some that melted and gave me some on the tip of a pen it was small so i didnt think it would do anythink! Was i wrong an hour later i was speeding so hard it felt like shooting it without the needle! It felt great! Now days a friend told me that the uses diffrent chemicals are difrrent since the real chemicals were banned! I get some good ice but its still not the same! I missed the old crank! It seems like a diffrent high now! And people back in the eighties never looked bad like the faces of meth! Nobody ever puc their face or arms! All you want to do back then was go places or start projects you would never finish! Maybe one day crank will come back it might be a cheaper form of meth but it was way better than the glass shards!

One more thing was putting crank in coffe that was the best it dont seem to work with the new stuff! I also used to like the smell crank would leave in my nose all day! Back then crank was most properly D or D-L amphetamine these days it’s mostly D-methamphetamine

Different stuff

It was the L isomer in the gear that used to make your hair stand up on end, as meth is predominantly only D isomer you don’t get that. The L isomer works on peripheral stimulation while d isomer acts on the central nervous system, IE Dexamphetamine (D). The Vicks inhalers that you get in the states has L amphetamine …… A shitty cousin!

Out of interest, pure ( well purest) gear has no smell no that ganky taste/smell everybody came to love was just the result of impurities from a not so perfect cook

When I melt mine in the pipe should it make a crackle pop noise the first time I’m melting it? I’ve researched any fins mixed reviews…. and is it the cut that sticks to the stem? Or the pure Meth…also heard various different opinions of this too. Some one that makes it no the real answer?

I never liked crank only because I’m not a huge fan of the ‘head rush’ high. Still, if its the only option I’ll do it.
Pure meth (even though its virtually non-existent in the US anymore) is always the best. Pure smooth high that gets you exploring the very depths of your mind.

THAT is the source as to why meth/speed/crank/ all that dope was better back in the 80’s. It was mostly the attitude. Life was all about having a good time and partying. There was no need to take more hits after getting ‘stuck’ (which is the key source of heavy addiction). Now a days, you see people taking way too much, putting themselves in bad situations, and completely doing the drug wrong. Whereas back then, people were smart about it. Party with it and continue on with your life.
