including my football table i love so much 😉
Ooo you don’t want to be doing that then do you!
samsung do my head in.. they are just never quite there
I threw mine at the wall… in fact I’ve destroyed a number of mobiles for various reasons.
BUT NOW
I gots a SonyEriksun k750i, it’s the nuts, is my 512mb mp3 player, my 2mp digicam, my handheld games console, my handheld internet portal (via opera3), my dictionary and translator, oh and my phone.
Pretty fukkin cool huh.
not gonna throw this one, although when I jumped a ramp I found the other day it flew out of my pocket and came to parts… put it back together and it was fine oh
seen:groucho:
my friend drop kicked an old mobile fone in a garden, it flew 40 feet, and smashed on a single paving slab in the middle of the garden…how unlucky
I hate this whole multipurpose gadget phone craze thats happening at the moment. Sure its handy to have a camera, a phone and a mp3 player in one tiny package but most of the phones tend to be average at best at all of these functions. I can’t use my phone camera to take photos of anything that would require 3 megapixels as the flash is so shit. I can’t listen to tunes without getting fucked off because you need a special set of headphones for it which are basically handsfree kits so they are uncomfy, sound shit and make me look like a nonce. I cant even use it as a phone properly as there are so many annoying buttons all over it to jump to the “media centre” or the camera that holding it is a mission without hanging up and winding up taking a photo of youre hand.
Why can’t a phone just be a phone? They’d be shitloads cheaper loads smaller and more would go into developing things so you can communicate with people clearly; which surely is what its supposed to dp
😉
might go for another Ericsson then, although I agree with elretardo87 about excessive fiddly functions. I already own a digital camera and an MP3 player…
what really pisses me off is the best mobile comms devices around (for functionality and robustness) at the moment are the cops’ airwave terminals (even if they fry their brains!) but they don’t do this sort of design for civilian GSM frequencies…
the old motorolas have the right balance of old-style design and functionality, but I wouldn’t pull one out at a free party or it would freak out too many people (they look very similar to airwave radios used by cops here and in London and TBH I think they were the original design idea for the sets that Motorola issue)
i recommend ericsson for user friendly phone functions
you cannot get away from the camera / mp3 anymore though… check the guardian article i posted.. the design teams are aiming at making mobiles essential bits of kit to teenageers.. that’s their future market. the other end of the market includes unreliable softare to communicate with PCs for the exutive end of the market
me, i’ve reverted to a 3 year old phone and a paper diary
until i get a bionic usb port implant to my brain!
if i didn’t need to be quickly contactable for sensitive work situations with vulnerable young people and my staff working with them i wouldn’t bother
my friend accindently shot his mobile the other day with an air rifle….
decided to finally cancel my Vodafone contract and move to O2
(it was getting to the stage where to use it at work I had to go and stand in the half-derelict barn with no door, with all the spiders and snails, as that is the only way I can get a decent signal). that is frankly ridiculous even out in the sticks – it was like being back in 1991…
getting a Sony Ericsson K800i tomorrow..
these days I am increasingly using the phone camera for free party pics anyway as my current digital camera doesn’t fit easily into a pocket. from what I have seen the pic quality isn’t too bad for a phone…
now the “fun” will start with transferring the numbers from one phone to another – what should be a simple job is often made complicated by different phones (even from the same manufacturer) having different data formats.
I
IF YOUR GONNA BUY A PHONE SAMSUNG ARE THE BEST …HAD MINE FOR TIME …raaa SMILE ..
Get the K810i, it’s the slightly improved version so I hear. I almost got it today but decided to have a think about it because the offer from the salesman was too good to be true… and usually when you think that there is a catch, so I’m having a think.
looked at that but didn’t like the redesigned keypad and theres not that many improvements on the K800 – plus being a brand new model there’s always a chance of bugs (the K800 has already been through several software revisions and its only been out a year)
I have suffered soem really crap phones (I dont have one of my own just work related ones, I refuse to carry 2)
I while back I had an Orange SPV M2000 (PDA phone) probably the worste one ever, wadnt a bad pocket PC btu didnt work properly as a phone at all with all sorts of random problems as well as a really short battery life.
Now I have an Orange SPV C600, its the same size as a normal phone whilst still giving me internet access and synch to my outlook calender, this work OK for me.
AS with all things you neeed to set out your criterea befor selecting the device, if you just want a phone the best one I have ever used is the Nokia 6310 although if I has to buy one and just wnated the phone funtion I would go for the Motorola V3 as well, I just boight one off Ebay for the good lady.
I prefer the keypad. You are right about the firmware but I’d have thought it would carry over from the 800. it’s essentialy the same phone only smaller ( I think)
motorolas are sweet as, sony erricson k-whatever are ace too.
nokias used to be quality, but now they are complicated as hell. too many stupid features. like a TV. what the… :you_crazy
something simple, like talking to someone on the phone, becomes a pain in the ass when the touch sensative ‘cancel’ button brushes against your face and cuts you off.
:laugh_at:
Hehe sounds simular to my house phone, it has touch screen buttons or summit like that! Well anoying! :crazy_diz
