i would love to go to czech tek aswel.. but its getting there and back.. maybe if i was more organised and got enough money together, who knows, maybe next year…

CzechTek 2006 to be Held Within the HradiÅ¡tÄ Military Region

The Czech techno music festival 2006 will be held within the training grounds of the HradiÅ¡tÄ Military Region, western Bohemia, in July.

Following an initiative by Minister of Defence of the CR Karel Kühnl, the CzechTech 2006, the free techno music festival, will be held on an area of more than 51 hectares ( about 0.2 square mile/5.5 million square feet ), at a location normally used only for military training and exercises.

The spokesman for the Defence Minister, Andrej ÄOírtek, announced the agreement regarding the lease of the military area, which was signed on the 14 June 2006 between the Ministry of Defence of the CR and the
Association of Czech Sound Systems – ALIANCE 23, in Pilsen, western Bohemia.

The lease agreement for the CzechTek 2006 was concluded for the period of 24 July to 7 August 2006. The major part of the festival traditionally takes place during the last weekend of July.

The ALIANCE -23 association is obliged, according to the agreement, to provide for organisation, mobile toilets, medical support, and appropriate cleaning of the area upon the conclusion of the festival.

This year, czechtek is going to take place at the edge of military area Hradiště alias Doupovské hory (Doupovské Mountains) from 28.7.. The land has been properly hired and is about 70 Ha large , which is completely sufficient. It si located near point coordinates 50° 15´ 24“ of northern latitude and 13° 13´ 23“ of eastern longitude. It is possible to enter the area from adjoining roads,but we recommend so called “old tank road “, which will be free for use and marked from Wednesday . This road can be reached from road no.226 between Podbořany and Vroutek or from Road no.221 between Podbořany and Nepomyšl. You can help finance the event by buying stickers at venue of teknival. All non-tekno traders and stands will be lynched , esposed and dishonoured at crack of dawn.
