Yeah, there was about 160 soundsystems on 74 stages, but most of them were from Czech republic….bad luck, only 11 systems were from foreign countries:( In first 3 days there was dancing about 40 000 people and day past day the number was decreasing…..I have most prefered the stages of Shamanic ss, Oktekk, Strahov, NSK and off course Metro ss…..sorry, but i prefer big sounds:wave: …but small stages were playing so good…..what I have to say…some link to photos: http://www.hypno.cz/czechtek06/ …see you next yearraaa
seems like a good event – I think some of my friends from England are in one of the photographs 😉
I read some “normal media” reports from google (in English) but I wasn’t sure of them
http://www.ceskenoviny.cz/news/index_view.php?id=201811
One said the event was good but there were a lot of medical problems – (surely not that many people broke arms and legs?) another said there was crime such as cars being stolen/broken into, thefts from tents and an alleged rape.
apparently locals also moaned about the traffic jams.
But this is no worse a level of crime / accidents / incidents than you would get in a festival in England.
Only 2 cars were stolen, 2 men were transfered to police psychologist…..was it caused by LSD????:yakk: :devilish: …..and from the closest village was stolen one package of lollipops:biggreen: …..i dont know anything about broken legs and arms:bounce_fl
yep – that seems way more realistic – media always exaggerate problems caused by these events…
Yep – Another Fatty all round. Big props to the huge Strahof rig for the banging tekno and the Pan Dam boys for a bit of dirty deep house. I’m totaly biased but the Brighton-Bristol link up was clearly the best sounding rig if not quite the best looking one. Hadda right old laugh with Ed Cox and his ClownCore set and The Big Bird with his Walk like and Egiptian and Scummy Man remixes.
Those Loony Bins belonged to a Brighton mob who kinda go by the name of Turbo Twats but the owner just likes fucking big speakers so dosn’t really care about the name.
The Laser was from the chaps at quantek if anyone wants to hire the fucker – shame they run out of smoke fluid and could only do green light but it still looked fucking wicked not that I’m biased about that eather.
Max props to the guys I met from (I think) Manchester who came down on their own – I was with about 30 people and it was still fucking hectic. Hope you managed to hook up with someone to take you to ItalyTek.
Loads of my mates managed to make the papers – bit gutted I didn’t as I was poncing about in a silver body-suit that left nothing to the imagination.
Had a right good night out in Prauge at the Cross Club which is without doubt the best fucking night-club in the world. Will post sum pictures when I can be bothered as its too hard to describe the inside.
Only downer was the fact it was a legal site and we didn’t get the thrill of the chase finding the place
Further to Marthas’s comments – yeah it did seem a lot less intenational this year. Only 2 rigs from the UK. Seemed a lot smaller than the 2004 tek too
Welcome to Party Vibe.

Thanks – I’ve lurked a bit before but never had nothing to say!
its not suprising that it wasnt as international after the horror of last year (not that i was there) hopefully now that the event has been thru the shit and come out teh other side looking sweet it will once again attract the whole of the european raver commmunity…
been replying to this on your clown-core thread but what the hell..
I think maybe because its a licenced event now rather than a teknival it kept the ‘hardcore’ (whoever they are) away. its like the choice between a free party and an (admittedly) free festival. Getting permision from those in charge(!) sort of kills the vibe. There were a lot of what I would call ‘tourists’ there this year and I know its a bit elitest to say this I don’t want it turning into just another destination for the 18 to 30’s crowd!

not sure about this; particularly from our country (Britain). Just to leave your country and spend a whole week raving is hardcore for a lot of people, and many of my friends did it. Most of my British friends who went last year went this year as well and took rigs – perhaps there were “not as many” UK rigs as the UK crews pooled resources and created one or two big stages, which is what tends to happen these days?
I nearly went myself but I had the choice between this summer party season and a long term job offer (after my last employer downsized) so had to follow the money… (otherwise I would be unemployed now)
what alternative did they have; when last year the police (ostensibly acting on the wishes of the more powerful section of society) were prepared to use deadly force?
I think its amazing that firstly the CZ ministry of defence actually allowed this event, that they only charged £600 and that secondly the cops (nor the soldiers) did not create all sorts of hassle like searching people etc..
According to the paper a lot of normal people/locals went because they know “policie” would not cause incidents. If it means they accept the scene and these events then I can’t see the problem. they have a right to attend these events to; everyone was a “normal person” once 😉
Clubs and raves are now the “club 18 30” extreme lifestyle for the new generation ; IMO this scene stopped being a “secret” years ago….
oh – don’t get me wrong – I totaly agree with you and will be back next year. Its still a mad mission getting down there, crossing borders and dodging cops. What I have noticed with a lot of European systems is that free parties are a lot more political than ones in the UK are now. Its a kind of a party/protest to a lot of people which you don’t find so much over here (some mates of mine do still hand out anarchist propaganda at parties) and I do think they see getting pemision as selling out. Its like with the Anti-French Tek parties earler on in the year. I can understand where there comming from – the “Whos streets? Our Streets!” mind-set
I was part of one of the UK link-ups (the fat sounding one ) and can confirm there were a lot less UK systems this year.
I also don’t think the Czech govenment (rather than the police) had any choice about letting it go this year – there were MASSIVE protests in Prauge after last year – business types on the tube saying how much they supported us which is something you’d never get over here
a lot of people have had kit confiscated/been fined here which may account for this….
did you get any idea why this is so? From looking at the “normal” media of CZ it seemed the country was divided in half but with a slight majority saying that the Police action was excessive..
