there isn’t any compulsory conscription in this country though, but dogs get no choice about joining the uniformed services…
incidentally its not so much the dead soldiers what get “thrown on the scrap heap”, they get a funeral with full military honours and their families get a war pension… its the ones what come back either physically or mentally scarred (particularly those with mental health issues) what aren’t properly provided for
also dealing properly with the war and its causes means making sacrifices in life like travelling and consuming less which few people are as yet prepared to do. IMO (particularly because the enemy is hard to define and is not attacking us from the air like in previous times) the papers do not report enough bad news about the war, we should be constantly reminded of it at every point same as we were in this country from 1939 to 1945.
I’ve seen them straight up send dogs after someone with a loaded shotgun. They will use the dogs as distractions/sacrafices. Pretty messed up…
yeah police will often send in “K9 units” when it’s deamed “too dangerous for humans” :yakk:
