So my question is, why have we never seen any photos of any of the equipment that has been left behind? Surely this is something that someone with good enough equipment would be able to do easily?
Luna 20, 23, and 24, plus the tracks of Lunokhod 2 (USSR)
Apollo 12 and Surveyor 3 (USA)
I think most of the Apollo landers have been imaged by LRO but I c.b.a to google the rest of them 🙂 The photos from LRO showed that one of the Russian Lunakod rovers went even further than the USSR had thought: despite the pressures of Cold War propaganda, the Soviet scientists had only given the conservative and provable figure from their own monitoring.
As to why not view them from Earth – you would need a telescope over 100m across to even see something that small on the moon, and it would need to be in space because otherwise our atmosphere would make things even blurrier. “good enough equipment” – yes you could, but good enough is beyond the reach of even governments.
Other countries also followed the missions to and from the moon by radar. The US sent something there, landed it and brought it back.
If you think that somehow they spirited the men out of the capsure before launch and sent an unmanned probe then you still need to explain how the lads at Kettering Grammar School could track Apollo 17. (their master was an astronomy buff and the UK has always had a strong amateur space programme, in fact stronger than our offical one most of the time). Were these British schoolkids and their teacher in the pay of the US also ? How deep do the conspiracy theorists want it, is it basically “everyone is in on deceiving them” ? (no offence to anyone here of course, we’re all well aware that little of what goes on outside our heads is real ;-))

Fair play, case closed! 😉

Fair dues man, fair dues. And tell me how you managed to complete The Great Pyramid of Giza in under 20 years.
Also did you build the Chinese and American pyramids?

I built everything the other night while I was travelling through space & time and wasn’t quite sure if I actually existed or not.

Oh well, that explains it then. And there was me obsessing about how all of these megalithic sites with architecture that we can’t replicate with today’s technology came to be.
It was all you.
No no no no no. It was the Nazi’s that did it. The USA couldn’t find its own arse on
thats very true! although most will say your mad for saying it 😛 some say that the Great Pyramid of Giza was originally intended for Hitler!!! :O

I shall continue my rant…..
If it wasn’t for Americas totally fucked moral compass NASA wouldn’t exist. The fact of the matter is the world would not have half of the medical and technological advances we have now, had the yanks not protected ‘valuable assets’….aka the bloke who made the V2 and mengeler.
Has anyone else noticed that the poll results look a little bit like a rocket?
