I just got a PM, because ‘m a bit para about this. wondering if anyone else got one?
”Hi,
I’m working on a documentary investigating the changing world of drugs from the growth in legal highs through to the use of illegal drugs.
Through the personal stories of users, suppliers, doctors, drug experts and law enforcement – this documentary will hear from the advocates and the critics. We want give our viewers the information to form their own judgments on drugs and the risks. Our hope is this accessible – while editorially robust – approach will draw in a wider audience for this important subject.
If anyone is interested in sharing their experience of using research chemicals, we’d be really interested in talking to them. Please get in touch on contact@octoberfilms.co.uk
Thanks in advance,
Bal
I didn’t but journos who send me such stuff often end up thinking they’d have an easier time trying to interview Vladimir Putin.
The company is legit but like most of them is run by middle aged folk with their heads stuck in the 1980s (although the person sending you the email is probably younger and an ambitious intern/freelancer; they are often from ethnic minorities and picked so they come across as “intelligent but streetwise”.
what these older lot seem to forget (or play down) is telly programmes are easily recorded and hoarded for decades and can be uploaded halfway across the world within seconds; and that makes it a lot easier to identify their participants.
The young journo isn’t lying nor are his/her bosses; but if you get into a “debate” on these shows you are up against extremely intelligent media savvy opponents who often genuinely don’t have anything to hide (and they’ve got the entire apparatus of the state behind them).
I only get pm’s from people on my friends list. Got tired of all the trash

not a good idea as its a Briitish company and some stuff legal here is not legal in USA; and this film will be set up to create an adversarial situation; whereas on here your posts put you in a positive light to some extent.
Also media companies can no longer protect their sources or their staff; as I mentioned in another thread I used to watch war documentaries on middle east when I Was a boy in the late 1970s and this old hippy dude who used to make the films turned up on another forum I am on; I also met in the 1980s similar chaps who did all the monitoring/surveillance stuff for the BBC and GCHQ. back then they made sure that journos didn’t get into risky situations that got them hurt. They also warned me about how; where and why things got monitored; how propaganda works (including the BBC) and the costs of free speech; i.e how you can say something without being caught then but it bites you in the arse 20 years later.
good point i i told them every thing i said.would b about my use of chems n i no longer use them but. ur right
I got one as well but after watching every other “documentary” get twisted to pieces when it’s broadcast I just ignored it.
Yeah, I get these type of messages fairly frequently. I’m always half tempted to engage, if anything I see it as a party invitation. I have no shame in my drug use and would quite happily arrive for an interview smashed. You’d be hard pushed to edit my behaviour in a way that conveys drugs to be unpleasant lol.
