Exactly. It was great. Anyone who enjoys parties who didn’t enjoy 5 days of 99% of electronic genres, an amazing diverse amount of people mixed with the brilliant underground creativity, has some strange issues.
was it as much fun for these guys I wonder?
this relates a story of the cops smashing in a bus window, discharging CS canisters into the vehicle and brandishing tasers at the inhabitants (although given they picked up this vehicle trying to get in and left many others alone it could be that there was something on the ANPR computer about it)

Think the rest of the people in there were asking for a lift from us later on! No space though…
Coppers seem alot different over there. My mate was filming before the party and pretty quickly a car came over the roundabout we were on and jumped out with battons in hand. However seemed to calm down when they realised we were English.
Private firearms ownership as well as the people having CS, stun guns etc is a lot more common in France, so every police stop needs to be a “hard stop”. Many of these gendarmes are people our age on compulsory their national service!
i heard this happened because the driver forgot to pick someone up at the last stop…..dunno if its true tho;)
do the french have to national service in the police force?? im glad i live in a country where firearms, cs, and stun guns are rare…..never seen any of them on the street and never want too!!
I’ve just had a check and although it appears they have removed the “compulsory” military NS shortly after the start of the 21st century, there is a “voluntary” national service for the public sector, and many young French do still volunteer for the gendarmerie! There must be some financial or other incentive for the French to keep up with their NS though or I would have thought no one would do it…
This is no different from British volunteering to be a special constable or the Rela in Malaysia – except they get to play with guns. Another interesting article I found was the abstract of a medical paper on treating gendarmes who accidentally gassed their own colleagues
