That was intuition, a precognitive idea of literally “what happens next”. It’s the most commonly reported “weirdness”.
RV is doing that under controlled conditions. You could think of it as literally being good at guessing – or better than average, anyway. With no clues to help, just a random number, or random alphanumeric code, to focus and meditate on.
It is certainly a slow process – nearly everybody has to be in theta state, “day dreaming” or “dream” like brain activity. It doesn’t happen with rushing around in a “normal” frame of mind.
By the way, if you read a book by a dead author, wouldn’t you be technically communicating with a dead person anyway? I don’t think that’s quite what you meant but I think you can see how being dead might not matter.
