  • about the same as the owners here treated theirs (and the punters), and the atmosphhere they put across hence why 6 girls die, others end up being victims, (most girls/women I know no longer feel safe in town since 2006, it has permanently removed their freedom) the blokes fight against each other and for the remaining females and nightlife here is locked off..

BTW Ipswich isn’t a complete ghetto, it is one of the more prosperous and resillient towns in the recession and has proven it can survive without much of the nightlife others take for granted…

And this is why I dont go to these types of clubs either – but just because it already happens doent mean its right or it should be tolerated…

and esp that sort of talk on here..

to be fair that exactly what Suffolk Constabulary and Ipswich Borough Council think and they did something positive about it – even if it wasn’t the pleasant/fun way of dealing with the problem… i was looking at the coppers site a few days ago and its a shame that views are so entrenched/divided due to drugs prohibition as they have some really sensible intiatives to stop violent crime amongst youths from knife crime to rape…

I go to clubs when I work….or have free bar or too wasted to really know what others have decided, last time I was in a club on my spare time I woke up under a table or I think I did, cant tell really….its quite some time ago

Dreaming of a perfect club is ALL OK in my opinion.

Its not the concept that bores us, its the fact that they have seemingly ignored all responses both positive and negative and continue to post tedious threads asking the same repetative question. At first I was willing to offer helpful answers but now im so disinterested in this individual they’re not even annoying me anymore

    Exactly! It’s just boring now.

Maybe if we just ignore him, he’ll go away.

its not just him but many actual club owners who forget nightclubs also depend on local knowledge, same as being a police officer or a councillor!

Even if we don’t agree with what these officials do, one had to undergo a fairly rigorous selection procedure – the other had to stand for election. both also require local knowledge. Sometimes when they say “don’t do something” its not because they are simply throwing their weight around, but there are genuine risks (like how two venues in my town ignored Police advice not to hold urban events with many folk from London (who were escaping checks on their behaviour in the capital) and MCs who would whip up a combative atmosphere.

Stuff like cheap drinks promotions and trying to skew the gender distribution of punters are just morally wrong as they lead to the blue lights picking up the pieces and people what don’t or can’t go clubbing paying for it in their taxes. The resulting backlash is why clubs fail and get closed down/refused licenses…
