For all of you smart people out there that might know…
My boyfriend gets his gallbladder taken out today and he likes to use ecstasy.
Does not having a gallbladder make it more dangerous to use? For example, would it have any problem with the synthesis of the drug because I know that the gallbladder and liver work together. I want him to be safe.
(I’m not talking about right after the surgery, I’m talking about long term.)
Please let me know. Thanks. :hopeless:
AFAIK it won’t effect him at all, the gall bladder is fairly redundant which is why it is something that can be removed from the body.
I think he’ll just have to watch out eating fatty foods as I’m sure the gall bladder helps breakdown fatty foods in the stomach
removing the gallbladder is removing an otherwise useful part of your body involved in the digestive process – you can live without it but its there for a reason.

most people will therefore suffer from various stomach problems if they eat cerrtain types of food. Also MDMA “shakes up” the stomach. Its use probably won’t kill the lad, but if I were in his situation I’d be damn sure I could “skip to the loo” very quickly if I was going to ever take MDMA again. It definitely has a laxative effect on some people.
Also exacerbating these stomach problems means you will not be getting the required nutrition from the food you have eaten and could get other illnesses as well because of being run down.
As I think both of you happen to live in a country without public health care, your bf should also check his medicare? insurance to make sure they don’t have a clause saying they won’t pay for treatment if its due to non medical drugs use (knowing what the lawyers are like in the USA I fear they would try such a trick )
Alright, Thank you. [:
I just wasn’t so sure how it related to the situation.
Thanks for the help.
less organs meens less places the blood has to go meening stronger ecstasy, thats science that is
tbh … dont no what its like in the states … just chat to your doctor … they cant after you asked his advice go and tell the police your personnel business unless it threatens national safety, a persons life or a child.
i no the guys on here are very clever indeed but with something like this its best to get professional sign off imo.
when i had my gallbladder out it effected my xtc use alot .. befour i was on 3 pills on a sat night .. after i had my gallbladder out i found my self taking 50-100 … :hopeless:
Lol! I like that one.:bounce_fl
Kidding?! I can’t tell! Lol?
dont listen to anything daftvader says , except if hes reciting poetry
there once was a dude called playground politics….
who with his fire poi he did know alot of tricks …
he set them on fire ….
span them higher and higher …
but his downfall was he prefered poetry to limericks :weee:
the problem here may be more that Nina’s bf can’t just go and “chat to the doctor” without forking over a few dollars to do so.
As a male with an intact gallbladder, I would confirm from personal experience that the average raver’s weekend lifestyle certainly does rattle both the stomach and immune system.
After a fairly mad weekend I spent the first few days of this week feeling decidedly rum – and also got a lurgi what was going round the office. Not enough to make me take time off sick but not particularly pleasant (feel better today though). And I am otherwise physically active and in a good state of health.
so I’d certainly suggest he cutting down immediately after the operation and kept an eye on his health afterwards – also there is a limit on health insurance in the USA, if it costs too much they just don’t treat you!
my wife had her gallbladder taken out about 8 years ago and she used mdma quite a few times after that with no obvious ill effects
Thank you everyone, I know it was a crazy question, but thanks for your replies. :group_hug
I have read a lot of scientific papers on MDMA in my lifetime and never have I heard of gallbladder removal affecting MDMA use, just start with a low dose and work your way up if you don’t experance any undesireable side affects.
