  • The people at the rave, which was organised by a group of local DJs, on land near Wellow on Saturday, April 18, admit they had no permission from the landowner to hold the party.
But they were shocked to suddenly find themselves being dragged out of their cars and attacked by dogs

Claims of dog attacks on group of young people at illegal rave near Wellow

bit scary!! Hope they catch them, but I cant emagine they will sadly. I’m going to stick a disposible camera in me car for future raves just in case (saftey first kids). Also im not raving without a pack of ferril cats in future!

those local yokels were lucky they picked what was presumably a smaller and friendlier group of youths. If they tried that with some of the main Bristol crowd at least some the ravers would fight back. A fair few people keep weapons in their cars and not everyone is fluffy and against animal cruelty either, dogs aren’t immune to blades or bats..

Yeah I was thinking that when I read the news thing, must have been tiney. I think they talk about someones mum staying there in the car while the kids danced so sounds like a youth type situation.

Makes me so angry though, I hate violence, people are so stupid bashing someones face in is probably the highlight of their life.

not always – even at larger East Anglian raves it was very common to encounter family groups there – bear in mind many people my age may well have teenage kids and more liberal views about partying/drugs than my parents generation did!

there is always a risk of vigilanté action from locals. However most daren’t even try although they want to because in most situations they will be outnumbered and lose. Prior to the zero tolerance clampdown in EA there were increasing attacks and counter attacks between locals (usually the younger sons of farmers) and ravers in the same age group, with violence and damage to property occuring on both sides.

Achally thats a good point Iv seen a few familys at the bigger partys (and was at the time sumwhat puzzled), seriously cool pairents. Iv never seen any vigilante action though I guess its not a massive surprise. Did hear about some of the local lot getting chased off by a farmer with a shotgun, who I was told did fire it a few times too. Scare the hell out of me thats for sure!

    Bunch of c*nts! :you_crazy

god knows, let me have a look at me settings

It’s fluffy raver types that this can happen to – the majority of young people I know in my community in general would have fought back and easily won to boot, and unfortunately wouldn’t have been kind on the dogs either.

even amongst the “fluffy raver types” of East Anglia this is precisely what would happen and is why there are 70-100 riot police used to close down raves when things go tits up, and their dogs often wear stab proof vests and glass proof boots…

actually I remember a couple of years ago a lad mentioning about how some random locals had tried to stop him and and his mates gaining access to a rave site -from their account of the situation it wasn’t directly outside but a few miles away and they weren’t farmers or anything – just young people the same age as them….

their driver punched the local to the ground and they went to the rave as before :laugh_at: I don’t normally like violence but FFS no one has the right to take matters into their own hands and deny another citizen the right to travel – if the locals were really that bothered their only right is to call the correct authorities…
