I have been following this story very closely cos I’m writing an article about it.
She went about it in completely the wrong way. The joke isn’t sexist and while if she was offended she was within her rights to report them within the code of conduct, she made no attempt to rectify the situation. No mention of “guys, this is silly and offensive, cut it out.” The tech industry is not a kind place to women, for the most part, I can tell you that. But her reaction was super childish. It’s justice by lynch mob and undermines actual feminism.
