Maybe only when you’re wearing a visor in the dove……! (Is a good pic of you btw!)

😀 – I always seem to look shifty or moody in party pics though – (yes, there are some of me on certain sites much as I try to avoid them ….)

going back to GL’s original post, HELLO!!! Yes, it’s my first post. I have had the audacity to post on ‘squatjuice’ before now and got the usual response – fuking crap thread M8, wot u doin postin ere if u the OB blah blah.

Made a donation today as I like partyvibe, it’s for the more mature student of rave as opposed to the chav bashing under 16s.

When I was a young’un of 23 I dreamed about goin’ to those Castle morton raves, but didn’t get there. In my 32nd year (2004) I finally made it to a rave, albeit now called a squat party. Hoorah and hallelujah!!!

To those who’ve been going to raves for years, you may not be able to understand the joy of partying like you knew it should be when you couldn’t find the party. So fantastic!!

OK, so it’s not like the good old days, the rugs are crap, the scene’s dying etc. BUT! better than no scene at all. Plus I reckon it’s what you make it.

Gen L – lots of peeps are shy, I am. Parties and rugs really have helped me, so thank god (s) for them!!!

will post again, it’s cool to contribute

    peace

when will people realise the cops have cameras everywhere, a very sophisticated digital comms system and plenty of locals who will tell them where parties are; they don’t need to do low-level “undercover” work!

Thanks – every bit helps. PV isn’t just this board but loads of other hosted stuff – check the “site map” for an idea of what else is there..

To be fair I don’t think age is really an issue. A lot of the people who start conflict on message boards are old enough to know better, and there are a fair number of younger people on partyvibe as well – I see lots of logins from colleges, sixth forms, even high schools… TBH I wish they would speak up a bit as they are going to be the future of the party community!

were you studying in the meantime (I noticed you put “accountant” in your profile and happen to work with loads so am aware how many years it takes…)

I’m not sure even if the rugs are that crap ; maybe less content for some but even so availability is greater – perhaps what is wrong is the set and setting nowadays.

There is no shortage of parties; the only problem is that the “townie” mentality of looking for a fuck and/or a fight at these events has crept across to an extent (although of course no way as bad as your local theme pub). OTOH the good old days weren’t that good (and I was there)!

There was still violence at events; rugs were expensive and fakes common. There are lots of things that happened in the “old skool” days I am not proud of or happy about – and sometimes I wonder “how the fuck did I manage to survive, stay out of prison and in employment?” (lots of people I know weren’t so lucky)

Everyone was more naïve and often seriously overdid things because they didn’t have info sources like this to warn them off; some paid with their minds, others with their lives. The NHS and peoples families are still picking up the pieces today – in other cases people got into ill-advised friendships and relationships which seemed like a good idea when people were constantly high but ended in tears.

Nowadays there are resources like this board, Bluelight, Erowid and others to get people “back on the right track” even if they have minor problems – and of course to share the memories of good times to get you through the comedowns..

LOL just noticed the Worzel Gummidge reference in your sig 😀

I got to say that http://www.erowid.org is a fantastic resource for all concerned in rugs, a lot of help with things without which i may not be in the whole state i am now. Adding to which, the works of Shulgin et al., PIHKAL and TIHKAL contain a great deal of information.
    Have a good day

Just about to start the long road to professional qualifications, a career I fell into unintentionally. Took my first e on my 26th birthday (always a late starter!), never looked back. Thankfully managed exams + clubbing ok but wasn’t a happy period.

Good luck with this; I’ve always been amazed at the high standard of education (and knowledge) amongst ravers (I don’t just mean exames either – a lot of knowledge comes from the street)…

    Hi Sambo303,

Glad you decided to post. Most people who moan about the old days are just looking at the past through rose tinted spectacles anyway (like GL said)

There are some things I miss from the ‘old days’ but I think a lot of it is just a case of getting used to things and loosing that bit of magic you felt when you first discovered it.

OIOI WOT U UP 2 ASL GIZ A RNG PLEASE TRA *********

    personal number deleted

Newbies, good to say hi, bad to leave numbers.

I did say don’t be shy – & welcome to partyvibe…. but it does seem odd to put your mobile number up as your first post 🙂 I have PM’d the lady concerned but not yet had any response.. but in the interests of safety and given that it looks more like a PM which went accidentally went to the main board that number has been removed.

    Please be careful……

:bounce_b: I am 99 % sure i have kinda met General Lightening over the Easter weekend. :lol_teeth. I am only 99% sure, cause u can neva be certain :shy:

Anyway if it was GL i came passed and said Hello then danced by the stack next to ya :bounce_b: . You seemed happy and peaceful which was wikkid.

I would like to meet more people but my communication skills suck, so i just dance. :bounce_b:
Speaking of communication i gotta figure and sort out why i cant get into chatroom.

hmm – I was in Swindon with a small group of friends and unfortunately didn’t go out raving…..

depending where you were at the time (and if you remembered that my family are from SE Asia) you could possibly have met Chino and mistaken him for me…

    I’ve never been shy!

It may surprise some of you out there to know this (apart from those who have met me) but at parties I’m actually a fairly quiet and shy person……

Despite the amount of stuff I post on here, IRL I still sometimes find it very hard to let go of my inhibitions and talk to new people (plus I find it difficult hearing or speaking to people over the sound of rigs) – I was always shy even when I was a young boy and to be fair I reckon raves made me come out of my shell a lot more than I would have otherwise.. (I’ve still met loads of new people over the years many of whom are now good friends…)

Anyway what I’m getting at is theres 150-200 of you logging on here every night, from all corners of the World; yet it seems sometimes that only a handful of people actually pluck up the courage to post here…

Although PV has a reputation for good solid info particularly on the legal and media monitoring side; I wouldn’t mind seeing a few more people talking about themselves, their party activities and life in general and I’m sure the other mods and regulars here would agree.

All we say is just leave out any “incriminating stuff” and keep any personal arguments away from here!

There are so many of you on here and you probably have loads of stories, ideas and other stuff to share.

Its only the internet; and we try to make this place as friendly as possible – why not register and contribute?

what’s the current signing in numbers?
