      I have never had dreads or lice, but it is very hard to get rid of them if you have “normal” hair..I’m not sure she have to get rid of the dreadlocks, but i think thats its maybe the only way to do it..:cry: 😥 I hope someone can give you a better advice..

      I Heard lice dont like TeeTree (Is that how you spell it) So Maybe try smothering Dreads in that,Stinks to high Heaven though:laugh_at:

      Try this site they have different methods all put up by people who have had the same problem http://www.dreadheadhq.com/make_dreadlocks_tipstricks_bugs.php

      rubbing alcohol is known as surgical spirit in the UK.

      If your friend does use the stuff, it is fairly flammable they are strongly advised not to smoke until the alcohol vapours have fully dispersed! otherwise their dreads may catch fire…

      [evil]”oooooh oooh, me ears are alight”[/evil]

      (sorry…)

      oops- was using old terminology – the term “inflammable” was still used until the 1980s to mean the same as flammable… I have edited the post though..

      Showin ur age now then mate :groucho:

      maybe so; although I took an interest in “extreme science” at an early age 😉

      There’s a load of info on the northern techno alliance forum, dunno if I’d try some of them though! See http://www.nta303.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2020

      We just use parrafin on site….burns a little bit but it kills them and their eggs in about 5 minutes. Then you just wash it out.

      Agsin don’t smoke while your doin it.

      thats not a nice mental image [smoking w/ paraffin in your hair]

      :yakk::yakk::yakk::yakk:

      olive oil stops the eggs from sticking to the hair so easily

      Aha- this works – the steam iron (not to be tried alone) will kill all eggs and crawlies- or use a hair straightner without straightning– just hold in place and ensure heat goes right through-

      Plug in steam Iron lay on floor with dreds out away from body on towel and allow freind you REALLY trust to steam dreds with iron – the steam will reduce hair damage but heat will zap unwanted mates.

      unfortunatley some will hide close to scalp–so when all else fails. . last resort! — prepare in wet suit– take 1 bucket and gallon parrafin to beach – tip parrafin into bucket hold breath dunk head in – hold still for 1 minute – then run like **** to sea screaming. . this will do the trick and comes highly reccommended.

      (for HS reason to not allow smoker to accompany you!)
