in NL you are allowed drugs testing giving exact amount of substance found in each pill.
In the UK we are only allowed test kits which will say that maybe a pill contains some MDMA or another chemical, but not the exact amount. this level of research is only allowed for forensic researchers of the Police and other security agencies. So that means that poor quality pills which would not sell in NL sometimes end up over here.
The impression I get from Partyflock (even the sheer size of that website compared to here) and also the large amount of dance music events is that in NL the dance music scene is put up with because the promoters by and large do licensed events, follow other safety rules any pay their taxes. And 90% of people behave well at these events, so the events must contribute a fair bit to the local economy.
Also the artists and promotoers are a lot more careful about their personal image/ brand than UK artists and distance themselves from direct involvement in drugs. (in the 90s many UK promoters were caught for funding their events and music productions through drugs sales (witwassen), this seems less common in NL (or you guys are better at hiding it).
Also drugs penalties are slightly less harsh than in the UK (though not much more so). you only have two classes of drugs (hard drugs/softdrugs) whilst we have 3 with differing penalties. Plus it seems that low level dealers of xtc are only fined for their drugs rather than sent to prison.
