Do any of you have any experience in the matter? Just to put the poor guys mind at rest as he worries he may have done himself permanant damage.
I’ve had experience with drug related Anxiety before, I had a little binge on the mephedrone last year (January time) and stopped doing it just before the ban.
I got extremely bad anxiety / panic attacks and I’m talking severe shit man. I also got very fearful of being around other people. Anyway this lasted for most of last year but it wore off around mid summer. I’m fine now. Haven’t had a bad anxiety trip for ages now!
I personally do not think your mate will have this forever. It might last a while like mine did but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Tell him to keep positive, exercise eat healthily and he should be alrite in the end.
Update, about 6/7 weeks after taking the MDMA he’s doing a lot better, minor anxiety issues but nothing to impact on daily life. No panic attacks for a month now, but minor anxiety symptoms are persisting, mainly just intrusive thoughts but occasional depersonalization/derealization (when he thinks about it too much, he has a slightly obsessive mindset which probably doesn’t help)
Smoking weed was a big part of his social life and 100% of the time was great, no paranoia/anxiety or anything like that from the weed (apart from when MDMA was in the mix). He’s been talking about considering smoking up in the next couple of weeks and I just thought i’d drop by to get some second opinions, as I don’t want him being thrown right back into the anxiety.
Cheers
I’d say don’t do it … but if he does decide to smoke weed again … might be a good idea not to just steam in and smoke loads … mby just a few pulls see where he stands with it … then a few more a bit later etc.
I smoked skunk for years b4 I started to get anyproblems from it … just bare in mind that just because he’s had no problems with it before that doesn’t mean things don’t change in people.
You seem like a really good friend to this person. Keep taking care of them. It’s nice to see.
Guys, do you think it’d be wise for him to take some 5-HTP?
He’s been reading about it and thinks it could be the way forward, but wants to know if he would have to take it permanently or just temporarily until serotonin levels are back to normal.
Also, is it possible for the serotonin levels to be reduced significantly enough to cause anxiety by having a bad trip from an overdose of MDMA (300mg), followed by a smaller dose (150mg) a week later? He was very anxious about trying it for a second time after the overdose but still did.
He was never anxious at all before this, and there is no family history whatsoever of any mental illness. He is hoping that serotonin was just temporarily significantly reduced, and can be returned to normal by use of 5-HTP for the time being?
Thoughts/opinions?
