I haven’t read any of this except the last page, but making pills is not straight forward.
You take an active compound, a filler, then the excipiants, which consist of a binder (the glue to hold it all together), a disintigrant to make it pop open, then the colouring which had to be dry not food colouring, medicinal colouring is available to buy. The has got to be granulated mechanically (well, in ghetto chemistry a washing machine in sealed fast food boxes)
What is tricky is that pills are made by compression, so you are measuring volume, not weight, so there is a lot of work involved in getting that right. Brass pill dies and brought and used, if you go to the big chinese manufacturers than can give to beautiful beveled edges on octograms, and branding, the also advertise the classic rave ones, smilies etc. It’s big business for them. Changing the colour and die takes around 5 minutes. If a spread of pills gets a good rep, the will be copied in days to be sold but with junk in them.
Almost all E’s are made using a single model of machine, it’s slow and not great. They rarely get the binder right so squish easily and go to powder. They also don;t label the filler, lactose is a classic, but some people are intolerant. It’s not just the meth etc cut into pills that is dangerous, it’;s the whole thing.
