from what I remember of that area the poor chap is unlikely to get anything other than the risk of being stabbed by some random because he’s pissed off you may be having a better time than him, one reason I no longer go out in town – hence his desparation of putting up a email address on a high profile forum.
Also getting drugs in town means hanging around with people young enough to be your kids, and through no fault of their own other than youth they are more impulsive and take more risks, and the “good times” of the 90s and Blair mean that many are less security aware and can cause themselves and their customers to get caught. And as you get older you get judged more harshly as well – although probably still only a caution if caught its more likely to be a Caution Plus where there are conditions and a referall to the local NHS mental health unit – they think that if you can’t follow the laws at 40 then you’re “a bit wrong in the head”. still quite lenient but not the best things for long term career prospects..
