i’m all for freedom of speech and right to protest, but i’m a bit stuck on my views on this

bradford saw horrific riots in 01 when the national front went there, it does not need much of a catalyst to set off racial tensions and full-blown riots tbh

27th august, if it goes ahead, right or wrong it’s gonna go off

EDL are just a bunch of violent ignorant c***s

freedom of speech is one thing but violence is another, and that is their main form of action

get one in a room with an intelligent- actually just rational – human being and their idiotic views crumble.

I’m all for free speech too but these guys are just thugs. At least the BNP can be engaged with in a political legitimate context.

    UAF UAF UAF UAF!!!!!!!!!!

unfortunately many of the anti fascist lot like UAF just want a fight as well and come from out of area to stir the pot – I’m British Asian BTW, born in England and proud of it but grew up before political correctness so have seen how bad things can get but on both sides its a minority of people what want to turn the streets into their private fight club and have been doing so from before I was born.

I think the decision should rest with the council tax payers of the area (which may or may not include MisterDuck) who should be able to lobby the Police as to whether or not the march goes ahead – after all locals can get raves and clubs shut down on noise complaint grounds..

to be fair the British cops can stop riots without too many people getting hurt or anyone being shot (unlike many other foreign countries) but the economic costs are immense and its money taken away from positive community ventures.

Its not like an environmental protest where there is a solution such as not using so much oil or energy (and even then I am sceptical about some of these protests) – the opposing groups want to drive each other out of the country. Thats a risk of a civil conflict which isn’t really acceptable in 21st century Britain.

Don’t be fooled by the UAF. They’re just as bad. Personally I just ignore all of em. Tis easier that way.

if people want a fight why cant they just go to their local Weatherspoons like the rest of the population. Never mix politics and biggots.

    pint anyone?

    i disagree mate

the UAF have some serious faults, some of it’s members are prone to violence, but “just as bad” isn’t fair, UAF is an umbrella term for a lot of different organisations, the TUC/Green Party/Co-op lot aren’t likely to be violent of provocotive

EDL are worse though. definitely with this. planning a march through bradford and the way they are bigging it up, they know what trouble they’ll cause.

and it may interest you that UAF cancelled a counter-demostration not so long ago in order to decrease the chances of violence and disruption. thats a pretty mature thing to do tbh. i’ve been at UAF “flagged” counter-demonstrations and tbh the idiots wantin a fight are in the minority, and annoy the fuck out the rest. btw i dont like being grouped under the UAF banner either.

well there was a petition to block it denied

if it goes ahead and anything gets trashed in the area the elected politicians of the area and the Police Authority should provide a full statement to national media of how much the thugs have cost England in lost public money…

down south some parts of London are still divided by the fall out from riots when I was a little boy, and the issues remain unresolved..
