Please find attached 3 tracks that, strangely enough, make up a three track e.p.

These tracks are more ‘housey’ than deep and so would be released as ‘edzy’ not ‘Unique 3’ if you are interested in picking this little lot up, or hearing better quality copies, call me at Release The Groove Records, London on +44 (0)207 734 7712 or email me at: edzy@funklabs.com

While I’m on, if you have any empty spaces come up on your radio deejay list, please give me a thought (House FM 88.6 across London every Sunday 2-4pm)

    regards edz x

Edzy – Deejay/Producer/Songwriter/Remixer also known as: Unique 3, Activity, No Control, Race Creed & Color, 208 Projects and Coco Phet

Unique 3 has been cited by such luminaries as Goldie, LFO & The Chemical Brothers as their original inspiration, Unique 3’s early 80’s ‘Bleep House’ creating the start point for thousands of House Records to follow and ‘Activity’ by Unique 3 (it is wrote) being the original ‘break-beat’ track which later created ‘Jungle’, eventually ‘Drum & Bass’ & paved the way for Nu-Skool Breaks. The inclusion of Unique 3’s – ‘The Theme’ on both The Chemical Brothers album of tracks that inspired them to make music: ‘Brothers Gonna Work It Out’ & on Warp Records collection of early House tracks that inspired them to set up their world famous label, an album aptly titled: ‘Inspirations’, stands testament to this.

Unique 3 were recently reminded of their major role in the creation of early House Music scene when The Theme’ was voted the number 1 track played at the The Haçienda in the ‘90s, voted number one by the world famous Deejay team who played there! – Due to a spate of recent bootlegs, The Theme is now being remixed, as part of a competition, the parts being offered up for producers to download from Warp’s http://www.bleep.com site, these parts have already been downloaded an amazing 3000 times – a download record for Warp !

Unique 3 released 5 singles & 1 double album while signed to Virgin’s ‘10 Records’ (plus numerous releases as Unique 3 & other ‘undercover projects’ on the band’s own labels: Chill Records, No Noise Recordings & Funk Labs Records & Tapes.

Unique 3 broke the national top 20 with ‘Musical Melody’ (not an easy feat back then) & enjoyed 4 top 5 club chart hits & 2 no.1’s. Several pieces of Edzy’s music have been used for TV & video & five of Edzy’s records can be found listed in the Guinness Book Of Hit Records.

Unique 3 enjoyed the success of two major U.K. & European club tours with their groundbreaking live sets which were also featured on Top Of The Pops, Dance Energy, The Word, Vivid, Radio 1, Capitol Radio & Kiss FM.

Unique 3 adorned 2 Mixmag front covers, front cover of Music Technology (the electronic music bible) and front cover of Gordon Mac’s original Kiss FM Magazine’ as well as a full page feature on the band in that magazine amongst magazines – The Face.

To date Edzy has produced and remixed for the following labels: Strictly Rhythm, Warp, Positiva, Fon, 10 Records, Network. Paradiso, Phuture Traxx, Love to Be, Miss Moneypenny’s, Tumblin’, 6six6 & Virgin to name but a few.

Edzy is a veteran of the radio airwaves, His ‘Funk Labs Show’ can be heard across London every Sunday on HOUSE FM 88.6 & worldwide via http://www.housefm.net Edzy is best known on radio in the north of England for his ‘Live & Illegal Show’ on 99.9 Emergency fm and later, his ‘Mix Master Dance Party’ on W.K.L.R. 107.5fm.

Edzy’s legendary ‘Soundyard Club’ (Bradford ‘87 – ’90) was catalyst in starting a whole new club culture in the north of England – at 17 years old he was flying in artists such as the late Gwen Guthrie, Mark The 45 King & Adeva as well as showcasing UK acts like Guy Called Gerald, 808 State & The Sindecut.

(Those amazing scenes which capture the spirit of the original Dance Scene: Unique 3’s video for ‘Musical Melody’, an MTV favourite, was filmed at The Soundyard in front of THAT AMAZING crowd!)

As a circuit DJ, Edzy was one of the original Southport Weekender deejays, his other guest spots have included: World Party (1991) The Hacienda, Ministry Of Sound, Heaven (London), Back 2 Basics (Leeds) Home (Manchester) The Canal (Wolverhampton) Love To Be (Leeds) Club UK (Midlands) Home (Manchester) Sugar Shack (Middlesbrough Empire) & Paradiso (Nottingham) to name but a few. Whilst in The North East, he’s better remembered for his opening night Deejay set at the legendaryHavana and later his residency during the halcyon days of The Middlesbrough Arena.

In between productions & DJ’ing, Edzy enjoyed a long & twisted spell as Music Editor of his favourite periodical ‘for boozers, loosers & substance abusers’The Herb Garden but moved on from that post, under medical supervision! returning to The North East in 1996 to buy his spiritual deejay home: The Middlesbrough Arena, which he sold in 2005, his club nights there have included guests including: Masters At Work, Afrika Bambaataa, DJ Cash Money, Roger Sanchez, The Jungle Brothers …..

Edzy is now half owner of Soho’s newest venue – The Soho Social Club, on Wardour Street W1& of Piccadilly’s latest Electronica record store – POKE RECORDS on Denman Street

    Credentials enough?!
