Also What is with this shit about soldiers killing innocents as well, Do they roll into a town and line people up and shoot em? I don’t think so dude. I do know some soldiers but they’re not nazis, they don’t go around popping civilians, they just do a job this corrupt government has given em and I think they’re doing a pretty good job.
You need to drink a beer and chill out a bit more man. This negative attitude is not healthy and also if you hate it so much here why not move.
its easily argued that they kill innocents as they are fighting men who are just unjust as themselves, and so they are both equals, are you saying the soldiers are innocent themselves?

How very English of you. :laugh_at:

Using depleted uranium shells and phosphorus weaponry targeted at civilian populations probably means that innocents have been murdered. Have you seen the birth defects that are occurring across Iraq due to all kinds of shitty weaponry we’ve been experimenting with. I wont put a link up as it’s very upsetting, but google will find it for you. The estimated Iraqi deaths, due to the Coalition invasion is over a million. All trained killers were they? And yes they do roll into towns and start shooting people. Do you not understand the realities of war? Do you base your assumptions on the BBC news or Daily Mail?
Don’t forget, although the government scour the underprivileged, deprived and poverty stricken areas to recruit foot soldier. They are in a paid job, they made a choice to become soldiers and kill other human beings. Walking into that uneducated of the facts, is no excuse IMO.

Ok man, I’ll just sit back, get high and forget about the troubles of the world. Cloud nine indeed, I’m English, proud as a bastard.

So are you really that ashamed of being English then?

Bollocks do they. So you are seriously suggesting our troops stop at a town and start indiscriminately firing at civilians. I don’t deny some civilians are killed as war is war and accidents will happen but for you to suggest our troops shoot them like the Nazis killed the Jews is highly and utterly offensive.
It’s obvious you hate everything about this country so I am going to end this here as I doubt we’ll ever see eye to eye.
Have a nice life.

I’m proud of my family, my friends, my veg patch……….my dogs. But not this Country. There are good people, doing amazing things in the UK, but thanks to the gov and media these people are stifled, they don’t have a voice and sadly don’t represent us on the world stage.
Regarding the realities of War, accidents as you put it. Look it up, or just think about it for a second, why the sick weaponry, why the torture? Why? Because our leaders (and us by default) are fucking shits. With nothing better to do than dictate and warmonger. Their power addled, profit driven, tiny minds corrupting every corner of the globe.
Do you know how many billions were spent on trident, bank bailouts etc. Hmmmm, now let me think where that money could have been better spent. It’s a sickness that runs through modern society. Screw you, ’cause I’m getting mine.
I think I’ll throw in my two cents…
British soldiers are not barbaric, the act of war itself is arguably barbaric but that is the fault of the policy makers, not the soldiers. The British Army currently holds a lot of respect for it’s restraint and work it does to help local communities and get them on side – it is the American army that is a bit more “gun-ho” but hopefully this is improving too. I’m a pacifist, I do not agree with war, however British soldiers do not deliberately kill innocents. I’d agree the use of Uranium needs to stop immediately but that isn’t my mate in the Yorkshire Regiment deciding that is it?
As for whether I’m proud of being English, I don’t know, I’ve never really thought about it. I’d say I’m proud of aspects of British society, such as the NHS, free education etc. but I also think we have a lot of catching up to do in other issues. I am not ashamed or proud, I don’t think I really identify myself as a nationality, I like my friends and the city I live in and the opportunities I’ve been given, so I am pleased to live in a country with those things, so I suppose I’m proud to live in Britain, even if I don’t hold much on “British”. I’m not sure if that makes a lot of sense!
