Long time no see…Indeed the memories of Waterden Road, amongst other places!!!.
Recently, due to work, I was on a rooftop overlooking that patch of town -the Green Man pub has been redeveloped into a hotel; the NYE four storey building is still there, tagged to bits, and the Waterden road building was still standing last time I went there, but will be gone soon (olympic redevelopment)
We had a kind of reunion party over the bank holiday, and I got a load of photos playing on a slideshow loop on a big screen – including many photos of the great man Dek….still sorely missed, and I’m rushing just thinking of him.
I will never quit entirely, just want to give the new generation some good quality cheap gear to get them started (then once I’ve sold it all, I’ll probably buiLd some new stuff – active tops and just a couple of bins for occasional use.)
The party was such a success, we are looking at repeating it at least once a year, hopefully growing into some kind of “we’re all too old or boring to have it proper, so let’s find a nice little venue and have it OOOPS! style!”
Hardcore will never die!!
