can anyone help .. so hypertheticaly of course .. i was under the impression if one was to do a party say in a warhouse and he or she had permission from the warhouse owner but had no liscence as such .. if the rig was being transported in a hired vehicle that vehicle would not be impounded because it doesnt belong to you so if your rig is in that vehicle it would be safe .. so if this is the case i someone was to hire i rig could that also not be confiscated due to it not belonging to the party organiser ? ( or is all this confiscation stuff just urban mith and the police will do as they please on the day or night ? ) … ??? .. also if it was confiscated how easily is it to get ruturned ..
police will do as they feel on the night, also depends on the area, venue ect.
keep the idiots away from the old bill, you can try reason with the old bill but get someone whos not a jumped up little twat to do it. theres nowt a copper hates more than some young middle class student who thinks he knows the law.
the police would sooner be out there catchin scum bags than dealing with a party so dont wind em up, try have a laff with em there only people at the end of the day. if there smilin an laffin at your jokes there less likely to nick you.
if you have got people to your party its your respocibility to see that those people get home safely, mr n mrs lemington spar aint going to be to happy about young tinkerbell & porsha coming back from univercity with cs gass burns and dog bites are they?

is there any truth in the hired vehicle theory though ?
No. The same goes for hired rig equipment. The hire company will likely get it back much easier than you would your own vehicle/equipment but it is within the law for the police to impound hired equipment if they suspect it is involved in a criminal act – usually as a result of breach of a sec63 or breaking and entering (padlock on a gate etc). Although, like MrAHC said, it will sometimes depend on their intentions for the night especially if there is greater pressure on them to act due to excessive partying in that area or any other events that could have sparked something off.
Not only that but I do believe the hire company is well within their rights to charge you for every day that their equipment is not returned.
mmm.. thats what i,m worried about dont want a huge rental bill at the end .. but would you say more often than not it doest get seazed .. if someone was to tresspass and hold a party perhaps break a padlock but clearup afterthemselves do the police prosicute v often ?
if your woried about it dont do it! it is ilegle and if you wana do it that bad its a risk you got to take.
dont do anything stupid, dont invite the whole world, dont advertise openly on facebook. keep idiots away and dont cause any damage. clean up all your mess and you should be ok.

MrAHC just summed it up nicely. Take his advice.
It’s difficult to say whether your equipment will get seized and it is becoming more and more dependant on which area of the country you live in as to how you will be treated.
However, if the police are understanding in your area, the locals aren’t cheesed off and the area hasn’t been rinsed; as long as you stick to what AHC said and also communicate well with police when/if they arrive and come to a comprimise if neccessary – then you will more than likely have a trouble free party. It also helps to show that you have a decent level of organisation and measures in place in case of any trouble or emergency.
cheers… not sure how tolerant they are around here we dont seem to have many if any partys in our county few in surrounding countys though .. not sure if that means they are tollerant or not..
when you say compramise do you mean to turn it down a little and to leave by a certain time.. do they ussually ask you to turn it off there and then..
depends, we did one spot and the old bill turned up, had a laff with us, had a cup of tea we made em then told us to keep it down n be gone by lunch time. 2 months later in the same spot they turned up mob handed, drove a car at one lad, jumped out with battons sreaming to turn the rig off, threatening to arest people.
who knows…
mmm.. yep does sound like luck on the day or suppose if you had done it once at that place they didnt want it to become e regular event i suppose and had to show a little force .. yet another question .. if doing a warhouse party with permision off owner but no temp entertainment liscence … the police turn up i chat to them do i show them round the venue , show them fire exits ect whilst people are in full throng of party activity or chat to them but say they cant come in .. all the squat partys i,v been to they just refuse them entry , surely this would just get there back up .. but on the other hand you dont want them to see loads of people k holed lying around ..hyperthetically ..
if you have “permission” but no license the cops and Council will still bust the owner (whose details can be found from HM Land registry or the tenancy agreement).
People might get away with “refusing” cops entry in the short term but in a large party what stops the cops putting in a couple of CID to see whats being “hidden?”
Cops are becoming increasingly smart these days, they don’t just act alone but now work with lawyers and the Council, and have the entire state power apparatus behind them.
I can only echo what others have said, don’t put into a illegal rave any resources you aren’t prepared to lose (including in some cases your freedom!).
TBH if you can get permission and a TENS (about £21-£25 and a few pages of paperwork) you’re laughing, it now appears that authorities even in really on top areas like Essex are more prepared to give out TENS licenses than ever before…
if you stop partying, turn it down when asked or come to some arrangement to wind down the party with the police, i think its unlikely that they would seize your equipment.
again it depends on the area, the polices relationship with rave organisers, and the frequencies of the parties.
as for people in compromising situations with drugs etc. people are usually smart enough to sort themselves out if the police are about.
