An Oz call centre employee has become an overnight net celeb down under after an email exchange between him and his firm’s workforce manager regarding a “sickie” escaped into the wild yesterday.

The correspondence, currently doing the rounds of Aussie inboxes, concerns a day’s leave of absence claimed by Kyle Doyle on 21 August. Read on…

    Hi Kyle,

Please provide a medical certificate stating a valid reason for your sick leave on

    Thursday 21st 2008.

    Thank You

    Niresh,

1 day leave absences do not require a medical certificate as stated in my contract, provided I have stated that I am on leave for medical reasons.

    Thanks

    Regards,

    Hi Kyle,

Usually that is the case, as per your contract. However please note that leave during these occasions is only granted for genuine medical reasons. You line manager has determined that your leave was not due to medical reasons and as such we cannot grant leave on this occasion.

    Hi Niresh,

My leave was due to medical reasons, so you cannot deny leave based on a line manager’s discretion, with no proof, please process leave as requested.

    Thanks

    Regards,

    Kyle Doyle

I’ve just deleted my facebook after realising that their privacy policy is a crock of shit. (Though I’m sure they still have all my info on record somewhere)

Their privacy policy – what privacy???

and why not? they don’t have the right to slag off their employers and their paying customers like that (and to be fair Virgin didn’t even say it was wrong for their employers to use facebook, only that they should use it in a appropriate manner)

the thing i am getting at is that no matter how privet you think you life is .. or how privet it is … and i know you keep talking about invasion of privesy … one so called fun “right to life” gets shat on by some cunt willing to make a mockery of you by means like facebook or myspace or any other social network/forum …. can/will/may cause damage to your forthcoming rep .. as it were … so shit like that can be classed as sladerous … not that i don’t think peopl deserve it .. just that there are about 100000 other people doing the same shit … just the poor fuckers that get caught getting named and shamed for it …

they slagged off their employers/customers on parts of that site clearly accessible by other members of the public! If they were bitching about the customers in the staff room at Heathrow or wherever they were based they would have got away with it.

there is no such thing as privacy online, anyone determined enough can find info on you these days.

I worked out a few days that if someone had my real name and a small bit of knowledge about my specialist technical skills, it would take a few google searches to trace me to here – and all this despite me only occasionally mentioning my first name on here…. And all this despite my name literally being mixed up with “10 000 Chinamen”, at least 3 of whom specialise in exactly the things as I do (albeit not in England!)

Therefore, if I do ever post about work it does not give details and is either positive stuff and relatively non-controversial info about the technology I use at work..

yeah i was thinking about that the other day … i fucked up and gave a few ppl at work the link to my radio show a while back without thinking … luckerly i don’t think they looked at the forums as i would probably be out of a job a while ago … but it is risky … shows that you do need to be carefull … thing is … swim could make stuff up on the internet as it is annonmus and if the people that saw the stuff that swim wrough under a diferent alias it would be hard to prove that it was them …:laugh_at:
