I have just bought an 8th mandy, and this mandy looks seriously like great mandy, and has a smell too. You could easily pass it off to some one as mandy because of the colour, the smell, the mix of crystals. I took one look at it and looked just like my previous batch of another guy. Big rocks but made up of classic looking mdma crystal. I was very happy when I bought it…

But when I got home I got my over year old marquis tester and I put it on and it fizzed like good mdma but the colour that seeped from the reaction was a pure yellow colour and the final left over dissolved crystal was brown (just a tin, but not a mda or mdma brown, just burnt reminance of the reaction I guess.

I was praying it was my marquis getting out of date as it’s a little brown. So I got my last left overs of real mandy and good pill I had. I tested them both and the mandy fizzed for just under a second before seeping deep black into the marquis. I test a pill to and that also went purple to black with less reaction, so my marquis works for my other stuff.

So I thought it might just a one off in the creation of the rocks/crystals – so I tested about 7 samples from all the different parts of my 8th. And the same it just turns yellow for every test. No hint of black – absolutely nothing, just fizing then yellow result.

I’ve been testing for years and taking mandy for about 8 years. I’ve seen alot over my time but never something so deceiving, which is worrying because I don’t know if this is dangerous. Has anyone seen this “mdma” before or have any advice for me?

My advice is return it to your source and complain, if possible. Unlikely but possible they weren’t aware it was bunk themselves.

I couldn’t possibly tell you what it might be. Have you tried dabbing it or having a tiny bomb (like 15mg) just to see check it’s not highly toxic, even if it’s adulterated with PMA or something similar such a small amount won’t be harmful to you.

What you certainly shouldn’t do is sell it on! Either get it replaced, find out what it is and distribute appropriately or caught your losses; admit you’ve been mugged and get rid.

Please please don’t just give it to folk as normal md as the beginning of your post suggests was your intention.

I am going to try sending it back but I’ve got a feeling I’ve been mugged hard.

Don’t worry I would never give mdma to my friends (or anyone) if I knew it was not mdma, that’s why I’m so pissed. I test all my mandy and I’ve never seen yellow before and seek advice. Just wondered if anyone else has seen this mandy or experienced this. People need to be warned that there is mdma out there that could be dangerous and looks soooo authentic. It doesn’t even look like fake mdma that i’ve seen, it’s definitely active, just not with any mdma.

I’m pissed if the guy does not take it back.

Well glad to hear you don’t intend on moving it on. I’ve never encountered but have heard of yellow MDMA shards/crystals, but not a reaction as you described to the test. MDMA can technically be any colour depending on what minor contaminants may be in it; remember 100% pure MDMA isn’t actually possible, even under proper laboratory conditions and years of experience cooking the stuff reaching 90% purity would be a great achievement.

yellow on marquis test appears to be an indidcation of Rc’s which could be methylone or even the 2-C series or those combined.

the “burning” is a normal consequence of marquis test as one chemical is conc. sulfuric acid. when this reacts with stuff is is highly exothermic (that means things get hot and can burn).

for proper testing you need all 3 different types not just marquis and to keep the test kit in date. but there are reports of RC’s being deliberately recrystallised as most laypersons look for crystal MDMA.

NB : I am an electronics engineer rather than a chemist and have not been buying any such substances in quantity for a while but we do use chemicals in crystalline form in the industry so I’m familiar with what different crystals might look like..

As GL said a yellow result from a Marquis reagent indicates a 2c-x compound or something such as methylone or mephedrone. My bet would be on methylone (bk-MDMA) though as this comes in large crystals similar to MDMA itself.

Hmm I thought pma in pills was bad enough but I really don’t like the sound of unidentified RCs being in MDMA.

Funny this guy should post this when someone else last week was asking about bunk MDMA and we largely told them it doesn’t happen because it is easier to hide nastiness in pills.

It’s not actual MDMA that’s been contaminated though, this guys just been sold something as MDMA when it wasn’t MDMA.

that would make most sense given some similarity in molecular structure. There was once a time (before Deez was born) that society wasn’t so paranoid about youngsters making bombs or hard drugs, that growing (harmless) crystals and looking at them with magnifying glasses or microscopes was a popular scientific hobby…

When I mentioned “You could easily pass it off to some one as Mandy because of the colour, the smell, the mix of crystals.” – ha that does sound like I’m the one pushing it, but I generally buy big just for myself and close friends. Hence why I can’t give them this?

I’m thinking some serious awareness needs to be brought to light here.

I can show you all pictures later on here with test results.

@GL I will order a whole testing kit with all the acids me thinks, good idea.

@Deez – this is not contaminated your right – this something that is active and looks identical to mdma crystal form but is not mdma or any mdxx
