Hi
We would like to link directly to some of your radio shows from our site http://www.fantazia.org.uk and wonder whether that would be okay (we currently have 3 others on our site). If so can you give me the direct http address for each of the stations and tell me whether they broadcast live and what hours.
Can we also swap links?
Thanks
Charles
Fantazia
fair play – fantazia – thats a blast from the past! should hopefully get us a few more listeners though….
first rave i went to was one of theirs
had no idea they were still going
think they fell apart and reformed but not sure really
:bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl:bounce_fl
probably been through multiple crew changes and have gone from being “scene leaders” to no different from any other commercial promoter though..
their production values/logistics weren’t all that and they essentially got played by the authorities who always have the upper hand if you do large licensed events – I’ve had a look on DSI and its shocking how much they and others have caved in to the demands of the nanny state.. photo ID required etc (WTF?), probably searches and dogs too..
The website is quite good though (if a bit superficial) and they’ve still got a strong brand image as have all the old rave names (there are teenagers who hear about these things and think they were some sort of paradise!)
too true
i recently downloaded a couple of tapes from old fantazia parties and the mixing was often shitty… and the mcs were really dire in most cases
ISTR there being far less at the event than on the flyer
was very loud and large party though

yep and the MC’s were always turned up way too loud and their lyrics often over-aggressive (at least grime is good for something as its got rid of many of these muppets)
I think they actually folded in 1993 or so and the “new Fantazia” is run by Scots who seem to be a bit more professional about things
Yeah, I think the name has changed hands a couple of times. The old fantazia finsihed in 93 like GL said. Then it got took over by some house heads and I think it has now changed hands again and resurfaced back as an old skool promotions company.
Only went to one of them but I was fairly impressed. The big bang looked quite immense too!
Incidently, here is a review on the Fantazia website of the events my brother and mates used to put on and I was involved with from 1992. A few details are wrong as it actually started in ’88 and there were WAY more parties than those listed but a lot of it is correct. http://www.fantazia.org.uk/Scene/orgs/paradise.htm
I remember Dance Paradise flyers from when I lived in Reading (incidentally did you also try and “wallpaper” your bedroom with flyers when you were younger?)..
found a thread about a more recent fantazia here

It is written mostly in Scots (a Welsh chap pipes up halfway though and complains he can’t understand some of the posts :laugh_at:) but I get the impression from this post below that although it was OK there were sniffer dogs and cops and various fights… (are bams the same as neds?)
yep no one seems to do that anymore (although maybe because free parties don’t have flyers these days!)
